I think Furhman having been bitten by a competitive/ego/sentiment driven bug is our best shot at a big time owner. Phelan and Platek have gone imo, unless they have plans to leave MSD. I don't see them taking ownership here and retaining directorship at a company with security over two other clubs. Massive potential problem if the security is ever to be exercised as one of them even signed off on that and both are at the very top of MSD.

We ain't making enough money for the next 5 years for someone to break even on their investment unless they're absolutely scraping the barrel and getting lucky, which Furhman presumably wouldn't... so it has to be about his sentiment and desire to do this overwhelming his financial interests. How much loss is he willing to take over the next 5-6 years in order to possibly one day own a team in the top 10 of the PL?
Not many clubs in the world have have what we have despite being run into the ground. Weirdly thorough STiD theres now more of a world wide interest in us and its the fans not the on field talent which are drawing people in. If the new owners can undo much of the clusterfucks that others have, then the rewards are obvious

Fuhrman must see that, a distressed but ultimately undervalued and undeveloped opportunity that could be fixed

Surely people can see that this is the best indication that something IS happening. No communication means that strict NDA's are been adhered to and a deal (hopefully) been agreed to can not be compromised. I listened to the NB podcast yesterday and he stuck to his original story which again is a good indicator that a deal is in the offing.
Fairy nuff. But it needs a new thread if and when something actually happens.
Love comments like this. “Lock the thread” “delete the thread” “mods it’s a disgrace delete this thread”.

It’s a message board for god’s sake, if it bothers you, don’t open the thread.

Shall we just start locking every thread every time someone doesn’t like it?
This thread has gone stale though

Only because people want things to happen over night weve had one person on who is itk who has kept us updated as much as he can and has know been told to be quiet.
The only reason it has gone stale is because we don't have any info at the minute why start a new thread it would just be the same as this one with a different title

I'll stick to being a moaning old git then. It's what I do best

Totally agree. Mental behaviour.

I've always said that both us and Newcastle are potential money-makers for an owner with the nous and wherewithal to make things happen on the pitch. At the moment we are the more interesting prospect as it would take a relatively small sum to instigate upward momentum. However Newcastle would almost certainly cost hundreds of millions both to purchase and to try to compete with the top 6 in the Premier League. Then you've got the problem of the most entitled loser fan base against a fan base that expects nothing but a little entertainment and the occasional victory at home.

He did play it inside the opposition full back to put Hume in a number of times. One of the (few) benefits of having a right footer on the left of the three is that it makes that ball easier to execute.
Albert Jumanji looked very two-footed (like so many continental centre halves) so hopefully he'd be able to do the job. Must admit I don't hate Flanagan all that much. He's clearly not a stand-out but he's not completely horrendous in a 3 IMO.
