Imo Storey got wind of Rodwell staying at the Roker and showed up there to create a story.

Which it did.

Was going to put something at the time but didn’t get round to it. I was talking to a couple I know out the front of the Roker that night. Rodwell, who I didn’t recognise until reading this thread, was sat out the front on the picnic benches with one other person who definitely wasn’t Storey. I didn’t see Storey at all, someone else in the thread said he was sat inside. Was only there a few minutes like so thought they still could have met at some point.

That is why we are going to see players being signed on “short term deals”....... I think that there is so much uncertainty that we have no long term plan or strategy. We will be lucky to get out of this league without shedding some additional players and getting a guaranteed goal scorer. Someone who can lead the line.

Short term deals with optional contract extensions will become the norm for every club In League 1/2 and that’s just down to the wage cap. Clubs aren’t going to want to keep players on two year contracts just incase they turn out to be shit.
