Doanld's personal skin in the game is around £12m if the deal is simply for his shares in Madrox. The £37m is the cost of Sunderland in Madrox's books. The price is actually a hugely moveable feast depending on what's actually changing hands.
This is a good point. Considering the ckub already owe FPP money and 74% of the club will cost alot less than £37m

Probably a stupid question, but if £12mill gets SD shares + £9mill FPP loan - other than CM & JS shares, what else makes up the £35-£37mill he was reportedly asking?

Come on man. The fella's goals in huge games contributed massively to us staying up for two extra seasons (mags and chelsea at home on their own probably paid his wages). To suggest he didnt pay his way is ridiculous imo.

I said he was probabley the most inconvenient example.

I'm not really disputing he paid his way, just looking at it differently.

The biggest point of staying in the premiership is the money. But when you're losing 30m per season and have been for some time that no longer provides a great incentive.

Wages and signing on cost us north of ten million. Staying in the prem cost us 30m plus per season.

The manner in which he behaved and performances were fantastic, his value to the football club for reasons beyond that, was not.

Him putting the parachute money back on iirc? Can't see that either tbh

I was simply going off the figure for shareholder loans in the accounts of SJD Leisure Holdings. The only possible candidate for the other side, looking at all the group companies, is Madrox. So that is the amount he's out in personally.

What do you reckon SD should ask? I know we are not experts but if you reckon 35m us too high, what is your guess at reasonable asking price?

i think someone cleverer than me can answer that. If something isn’t selling its too expensive though, thats been the case for at least 18months now

£37m in Madrox's books, projecting forward from the 2019 accounts:

Cash put in by Donald £11.2m
Cash put in by Sartori £5.5m
FPP loan £9m.
Parachute not yet put back into the club £11.4m.

What do you reckon then? 5m? Great ground, huge crowds and worth 200 to 300m if and when we get to premier. I don't know the figure but 35m does not seem high.

It's a business that loses 5-10m per season currently and a lot more in the league above without any further investment.

You cant sell off any facilities we have lost around 20m in assets since the last purchase.

It really all depends on how rich and why you want to get into j guess, but it doeant look like a steal to me?

37.6 - 20m seems about right.

Didn't he put the 9m fpp loan off the parachute money he owes the club?

How would that translate if they wanted to buy the club? Treat their current 9m loan/investment as down-payment on shares?

You obviously know more than I ever will about accounts like.
