You've done absolutely the right thing. No surprise who the one lot to run it without any proof were. The same ones that were bitching on and on about not being allowed to attend the fans group meeting with Donald. I shudder to think what they'd have been like at that one. The fact the lad retweeted it and said "heard this tonight" as if he'd just found out pretty much proves he was making it up for attention and hoping for a woeful hashtag to trend.
 
Loads of people panicking and talking bout ITK’s etc. Can i just remind people of some facts. Nick Barnes who works for the BBC and doesn’t just post shite on football forums and spread rumours said a few weeks ago a takeover looked likely, he sounded confident and hasn’t said anything different since. William storey who whatever you think of him said he was expecting a big development this week and has met our ceo at poetic license. I have no reason to doubt nick barnes. Something is happening, I don’t know what cos i’m not ITK. If it doesn’t happen tomorrow that doesn’t mean it’s off. Stay patient. If I was a betting man I would say the fact Micky Gray is going on a family holiday would suggest he is maybe out of the running.
 
Our owner is heavily influenced by a bloke who has made a career out of spin and managing a narrative.

I don't believe a word which is spouted now, I don't trust a word the club says, I hate our owner and nothing will change that. He has single-handedly turned this club into a 'thing' which he has an ego-driven interest in. He won't sell unless it suits him and that won't be anytime soon.

I want to stand on a terrace with like-minded fans and sing 'red flag', drink beer and talk shit about the club we love but the narrative has been totally stolen and now we have utter loons talking wank about Gordon Rowell and the 25000 at Maine Road. *****. Napoleon syndrome *****.

Three accountants write for us so I'd be happy to get them involved in looking over a credible offer if someone wants to put something our way, but we've not been approached as such just yet so... aye. William Storey offered to meet us to put us straight but never followed through on it when we told him we'd be happy to meet with accountants present. There are a lot of chancers out there right now who are looking to take advantage of our club, and having been taken in as much as anyone the last time this happened, the lads and lasses at RR have trust issues this time around...

My gut feeling is that Donald will either sell most of his shares or all of them to Sartori, because everything happening right now suggests that the new regime led by Rodwell are going nowhere. And let's be honest, who the fuck is paying £35m in the current climate for a league one club who keep failing to get promoted? It's not happening.

Would you be able to actually talk us through what happened last time?

Am I correct in understanding someone at the club (no names of course...) contacted yourselves, ALS and WMS to tell you that the deal was done or have o made that up? If so did you tweet/ podcast? And then what happened, did you get told it wasn’t happening or?

I was talking about when the current owners came in and promised us the world!

I was led to believe the FPP takeover was almost certainly happening, but was never told it had been completed. I've explained this away on here before, but the takeover Podcast we did with Kieron Brady - where we discussed what Sunderland under the management of FPP could look like - was genuinely just us waiting for the news to be confirmed like everyone else, there was no insider information as a result.

I totally get the point I just think using Altidore/Defoe in that list totally nullified it.

Granted we wasted a fortune on shite but the outlay on Altudore resulted in Defoe which was IMO the best bit of transfer business since we signed Super Kev. We didn't need to recoup a transfer fee, he repaid it 10 times over.

It seems like you are quoting our best transfer of recent times as a waste, his commercial value was immense.

Defoe's volley against the skunks alone made it worth while, plus we cant ever forget how brilliant he was with little Bradley and his family. It still brings a lump to my throat looking at the photos of them both together, what a player, what a man...
