Jesus Christ, absolutely mass panic on Twitter because wee Phillie has said something that was common knowledge weeks ago. It seems people are that desperate to get this done absolutely any news from any source is causing everyone to panic like fuck.

You're missing the point. It is an example of us continuously wasting/loaing money on sour transfer business. Altidore was an expensive signing. We swapped him for Defoe who left for nothing. So the outlay on transfer fee was lost and not recovered.

I totally get the point I just think using Altidore/Defoe in that list totally nullified it.

Granted we wasted a fortune on shite but the outlay on Altudore resulted in Defoe which was IMO the best bit of transfer business since we signed Super Kev. We didn't need to recoup a transfer fee, he repaid it 10 times over.

It seems like you are quoting our best transfer of recent times as a waste, his commercial value was immense.

I could see him knocking back £25m but not £35m.The fee would have been agreed months ago in principal before talks began.
Probs a load of brinksmanship and postering going on from both parties.

Donald seems to want out for his next thing which he’s got lined up and he’s not daft enough to not realise the relationship between the fans and him are fractured beyond repair.
We all need a clean break and he knows it.
