People are massively overselling the "publicity" angle. No-one else gives a fuck. I spoke to my mag mate about it and he didn't have a clue what I was on about. Beyond Sunderland and a handful of villages surrounding it, no one is paying much attention to this at all. I very much doubt he's selling more energy drinks by visiting Sunderland and wearing a shirt. He could have thrown his hat into the Newcastle ring and got an awful lot more publicity if that's his angle.
Mate are you Storey? Every post backing him to the hilt

I think I love him.

Every potential owner in the modern game is one of two things: an egotist or an asset stripper. The modern cult of celebrity has changed the landscape of football, and for the worse no doubt.

If this fella is the figure head and has backers to the tune of £50m+ then I’m in. Business acumen with the sheer rollercoaster of this bearded wonder will do for me.

We can’t sink any lower. We are as big a laughing stock as we can be. Let’s go for a heap of crazy and ride the wave.
Am game for that...

a think 🤔

But what's the publicity for (people claim you can't even buy his product) and how does it help his brand if it turns out he was lying/misleading people which will be fairly obvious?
fuck knows mate, ever met a walter mitty type? the sort of bloke who cant help telling ridiculous stories even though everyone knows theyre bull shitting?

im sure theres someway of cashing in on social media infamy too.

It's good that the club don't get drawn into publicly responding to claims, especially specifics.

The "not seen as credible" part should be more definitive. In my view no-one is credible until they show proof of funds. Why not state that instead of "not seen as credible" which allows for different spin and interpretations.

1. Rich Energy's bank balance is £581. (No figures missed off).
2. Rich Energy haven't filed any accounts - even though they are overdue - since 2018.
3. It is impossible to purchase Rich Energy in any shop that I have ever been in.
4. An F1 team went into administration when he was claiming to be interested in buying them because they knew he wasn't credible.
5. When he went to court for stealing the logo of Whyte Bikes, the judge found that he was dishonest- her comments are worth repeating as he seems to have pulled the same stunt on our fans here:
"I found both Mr Storey and Mr Kelly [Storey's friend and logo designer] to be poor witnesses. Mr Storey provided different and inconsistent accounts of the development of [the Rich Energy logo], which also conflicted to a large extent with the evidence of Mr Kelly. He often did not answer questions directly, preferring to make speeches about his vision for his business or alternatively seeking to evade questions by speaking in generalities or in the third person plural. He only answered several questions when I intervened. He had a tendency to make impressive statements, which on further investigation or consideration were not quite what they seemed."
6. He claimed in court that he had sold 90 million cans of his drink. He changed that to three million.
7. He sponsored an F1 team then fell out with the owners of the team, and the other shareholders in his own company.

Fookin details man....
