No comparisonpeople said the same about Short

Surely if he wanted publicity he'd have done it with Newcastle?People are massively overselling the "publicity" angle. No-one else gives a fuck. I spoke to my mag mate about it and he didn't have a clue what I was on about. Beyond Sunderland and a handful of villages surrounding it, no one is paying much attention to this at all. I very much doubt he's selling more energy drinks by visiting Sunderland and wearing a shirt. He could have thrown his hat into the Newcastle ring and got an awful lot more publicity if that's his angle.
Hard to say when nobody knows who they are. Plenty of people get involved with dodgepots on the premise they're going to make money.People need to see who the backers are before they go passing judgement if he was a dodge pot they wouldn’t have nowt to do with him.
Aye look at the state of Wigan, wiped their debts, in league one, run by chancers....umb....Guess I mean there are and have been a lot worse owners in the football league. Yep we've failed to get promotion twice, which is terrible, but look at the state of Wigan etc

I think I love him.
Every potential owner in the modern game is one of two things: an egotist or an asset stripper. The modern cult of celebrity has changed the landscape of football, and for the worse no doubt.
If this fella is the figure head and has backers to the tune of £50m+ then I’m in. Business acumen with the sheer rollercoaster of this bearded wonder will do for me.
We can’t sink any lower. We are as big a laughing stock as we can be. Let’s go for a heap of crazy and ride the wave.

We only had saleable assets and a youth team under Ellis Short as we were £120m in debt and being kept afloat by a billionaire pumping cash into the club as debt. It amazes me how people think this scenario was better than what we have now.are you mad or something? we have no sellable assets , no young players ,can hardly get a under 23 team out. We have been selling them to fund the daily running of the club!

Maybe because Mike Ashley would have slapped him down hard on Day One.Surely if he wanted publicity he'd have done it with Newcastle?
We can sink lower... theres a league below us... or we can disappear.
