Sale is close - Barnsey

So he is friends and has business arrangements with Justin King who just happens to also be into motor racing. So is it Terra Firma who are one of his backers or a meringue?

I very much doubt they're broke. They're in formula one and American motor sport.

Donald has already said that he wouldn't give anyone time of day unless they show proof of funds.

So do you think Donald has accepted an offer without any evidence of funds? Or that there has been no bid accepted at all because he doesn't have the funds?

Sorry I meant relative to other teams in the sport (i.e the cheapest deal in the sport). Hes claimed he has factories around the world and he’s worth 100m, but his accounts show none of this at all.

He said himself that no bid has been accepted. He’s even said the club aren’t taking him more his bid seriously so far.

He also attacked FPP and said they’d stop him buying the club, well they’d only do that if they didn’t think he’d get them their loan back.

So he’s come up today, got himself on the news - and our CEO is meeting him in a busy bar, hardly strikes of the club being interested at all.

FPP can veto a sale to a buyer they don't trust. If he's having problems convincing them, that tells you all you need to know.
Am I not right on saying he can pay Donald the fee and he can pay FPP off and they have no power of decision making ?
Dave Jones back in London on his Instagram so just Rodwell who’s likely been sent to get him to shut up.
Or keep his options open

Fair enough but he’s only 15% of this consortium. I’m more interested in the other 85%.

If it does go through we definitely need to learn from the last lot and hold them to account from day one and that goes for whoever it is.

This is the key point in all of this. If true who are the other 85%? If they are as big as he is suggesting it could be very exciting

He said he would name them soon. Surely he cannot name them and it not be true. Would be getting sued left right and centre

f***ing cliche bingo in that interview!! There was no substance to anything he said so how can people say he has a proper plan and that what he said was spot on.

How gullible and insecure are some of our fans. Some fella comes on tells us we're mint and we're already bending over for him learning no lessons from past experiences. It's so easy, I can see how Stavely's got the Mags dancing to her tune when this is all it takes. Fuck it, I'm going to go and start a cult and get rich.
Right wee moo hoover aren't you

His offer hasn't been accepted tho has it?....seems hes trying to force his bid by putting on a bit of a show today around town and on local radio.

Sounds like a bizarre and quite worrying arrangement if FPP can't simply be paid back what they are owed and instead have a veto over any takeover. I really don't like the sound of this at all.

The veto is there until the loan is repaid. FPP need to be sure any buyer can repay the loan if it's still in place after any sale. Donald would need to repay the loan himself prior to any sale. The clause is about them protecting their own assets.

I do find it quite funny that despite knowing absolutely bot all about FPP everyone is agreed they’d be great for the club. Even though MSD (yes it’s a different entity but it’s mostly the same people) have employed the same strategy elsewhere since the takeover fell through that were special somehow.

In reality that loan is a hindrance to the sale at present. They aren’t buying us and could well be just waiting for us to default so they can swoop in and flip.

William Storey went full Peter Odemwingie and rocked up at the SoL in a Sunderland top after a nosey round Jacky White's. Ended up getting himself an interview on BBC Newcastle where he confirmed to everyone that he is indeed absolutely off his tits but speaks very well and seems to have got a few on board. Launched a load of hand grenades at FPP, Donald, Sartori and Newcastle United/Amanda Stavely but said he loves the Sunderland fans. He seemed very confident in his backers and his bid to buy the club, pretty much claiming he'd break the wage cap as well as he's not a lawyer and couldn't give a fuck. In a late twist to proceedings, he's now in a busy Sunderland boozer with none other than Jim Rodwell and Dave Jones and everyone's gone a bit mental. Don't think I've missed anything pal.

Did he put a £1 in the Duke Box and play a ZZ Top number?
Seriously though you are definitely coming close to Swindon territory with some rollercoaster goings on. Hope it all works out but anyone can talk a good game.
Famous Swindon quotes that always raise a smile:
“We have more money than you can shake a stick at.”
“We have a fair few million already ring-fenced.”
Two different owners, two different load of bollocks and both equalled not a pot to piss in.
Just be careful and I know you will be. On the other hand just maybe one of these bullshitters will eventually turn out right.

I've not seen him mention FPP.

Meeting our CEO suggests they're taking him a little bit seriously.

It's simple for me, he either shows he has the funds and Donald accepts the bid or he doesn't and nothing happens.

I don't see a scenario where he can buy the club but not have the funds so I don't see the issue people are getting wound up about.
