Following on from my daily whinge about Riverside Park packed on Saturday, yet 200 yards over the road we are banned from watching cricket................... Tonight i put Look North on and someone can host an open air concert in Gosforth Park with over a thousand people tonight, but I'm not allowed to go and watch the cricket???

The thing is not just cricket but professional sport in general appears to have just given up even trying to get spectators to their venues.
It's as if they have looked and thought we have got the money making parts of our individual sports on TV so that keeps the TV companies and the major players happy so bollocks to the rest of it for now.
I lost interest in football years ago but God knows what going to happen to Sunderland never mind Durham C.C.

In direct response to your thread title - no, nobody can. Not even the absolute shithouse pictured in post number 2.

The guidance on who and what can and can’t open and how many people can and can’t go places and do things is the biggest contradiction in terms we’re ever likely to see anywhere.

I trust that knowing what you do now, you’ll not be voting for them next time though ;)

As it stands I'll be drawing a massive penis on my voting slip.

I can’t even go and watch my nephew play for Shirebrook in a pre season friendly at step whatever it is.
Bloody crowd would be about 100 tops and there would be more than that in the beer garden of a large pub.

That a council or club decision? Clubs round here were welcoming spectators with open arms until Bradford and Kirklees councils put their foot down when their areas were locked down. Leeds and Wakefield still fine,
For now

It’s throughout non league I believe. Must be limited in numbers from each club too as my Brother works with the keepers and his been told no go.
Even the ground hopper fraternity are struggling to get any pyramid friendlies in.
Sunday leagues tho you are ok to go as I can watch my lad play and he plays in the top league in South Yorkshire. There must have been 60 at last weeks friendly.

NEPL Premier division.

Good crowd on Saturday - nice weather - lots of tables and chairs outside for spectators - lovely ground in lovely surroundings.

Bar open but only outside drinking allowed. All nicely spaced out.

What's not to like?

Hope they won after all that:lol:

The Sticky Wicket is still open I think. If it is then there's nothing stopping you from booking a table, having your scran then going out to watch the game.
