Doesn't score enough
True, but that a form issue rather than the type of batsman he is. He's a top order batsman in style and personality and he can score big. It's a bit difficult to talk about current form on only two innings but he didn't do a lot last season (only played 6 matches).

Just watched Marty's preview of today's play it looks glorious at the Riverside.
Might be going early here but Bedingham looks an acomplished batsmen at this level. Not sure why he is only on a 1 season deal. Play safe get him signed up now if they Can.

Does the 130 over limit apply to both innings or just the first?

Just the first. Along with 90 over new ball, to encourage spin bowling. Good idea I think, certainly better than the no toss bollocks.

You couldn't do it with 2nd innings as you could get a situation where the 4th innings reaches 120 overs too early, like of day 3 or something.

Don't jinx it mate but I reckon the lads where inspired by that speech you made on here at 3.06 pm yesterday. I thought you where bonkers but I hope you are right.

In an ideal world I'd agree but this is the practicality of what's available to Durham. I've no doubt if/when Bancroft and Behardien are here he won't be batting 3.

I thought that too, unfair to judge him on one game and when circumstances are so ‘unprecedented’. I’m certainly not willing to write him off just yet.

He looked solid enough yesterday until Lees ran him out, he’s also nearly ran out Bedingham today too so wonder whether he’s a left handed Sir Geoff Boycott. His obdurate nature in this one certainly shows similarity.

Lunch: Durham 194-2 (80 overs). Lees 92*, Bedingham 68*.

Durham lead by 98 runs.

Is the no toss bollocks gone now? That’s good news if so.
