Aye, I also think Roker Report have missed a bit of a trick by not interviewing him. I know we'd be sceptical about the answers, but it would be of interest even if he was limited in what he could say. I'd be very interested to know how he thinks he (or his backers) can invest £50m when there's SCMP and a potential salary cap coming in. Also how would the money be coming in (would it be a loan that he could claim interest on and try to take back later, rather than the mechanism used by SD with the FPP money). Stuff like that would be interesting, see if he actually has any answers
The Roker Report have behaved embarrassingly. I’m guessing the people who work on roker report all have aspirations to work in the media and yet they think it’s acceptable to refuse to interview someone who is making headlines in the National press about taking us over. I’m not going to lie I listened to all the donald podcasts( which were great) but i’m not interested in listening to most ex players getting interviewed. No matter how serious this fella is about buying us it would have been worth listening to. If they questioned him correctly they would probably be able to tell if he was bullshitting. Anything regarding a potential takeover is relevant to the fans so find it unbelievable they turned it down.

Yup like I said in another thread that Matthew Crighton is shouting his mouth out at Storey saying they don’t want to give him a platform. All the while he does an interview article on him hammering him and then says to Storey ‘whilst I’ve got your attention’ and fires off a load of questions

You either are giving him a platform or you’re not but if you’re not don’t then do a piece on him and run your mouth at him on twitter ffs. Looks like a joker in that respect.

It's a complicated one tbh. If they've taken the view that he's just looking for free publicity by attaching his name to the club currently then I can understand their decision not to give his story any oxygen.

However, from another perspective it's an opportunity to really interrogate his claims about being in talks and having backing etc. MY first impression of him is that it would probably unravel with even the merest of scrutiny. Unlikely to happen now though as they've been so dismissive and hostile.

Interesting week ahead. If there's no further information out about this by next weekend I'll be pretty confident there's nothing in it, not that I'm convinced there is at the minute anyway.

Not trying to defend Storey here, I have no clue if he's legit.

But Roker Report have already decided that he's a chancer and have looked for a source to confirm that (and found a talkshow host).

The whole Haas debacle is interesting, but to suggest that he had no money at all, would suggest that Haas were completely negligent in their business approach to sponsorship.

The fact that he sponsors superbikes has not yet been explained away, it just gets ignored.

Then finally, he's never claimed to be a sole investor, he's stated that he has much more reputable and significant backers. Its easy to discard this, but as he's managed to get his foot in the door at Haas, done business in superbikes etc. It wouldn't surprise me that he's capable of persuading wealthy businessmen to take him seriously.

I've no idea if he's legit, but people are stating for a fact that he's not without knowing anything first hand themselves.
That hasn't been answered if he was skint how is sponsering superbike teams

That makes absolutely no sense. If there's an NDA in place as expected the we shouldn't hear anything until it's done which by most estimations is in the region of four-six weeks.

No news is more likely a good sign than a bad one. I know football fans are notoriously impatient but this is one of those situations where we just need to wait it out.

As opposed to a sad lonely man whacking off over his own Twitter account 🤔
Think you will find that's yourself, you're the 1 spouting off names of websites

If it is a takeover and it's done properly we shouldn't hear anything for weeks until its done

The NDA will primarily be around the information involved. I'd expect the local / relevant national journos to have an idea of who is involved shortly and they'll let us know (if anyone is).

There'll have been an NDA covering the mags deal for instance.

The difference with the mags deal was Amanda Staveley seemed to like to talk about the deal, hopefully ours will stay out the press and just happen, but probably not nowt is ever that straight forward with safc

Not necessarily the case that anyone will know or be willing to share publicly even if they do. I am certain Barnes knows already, he's just being respectful of his source as has been asked not to say.

There will be a real desire to keep this under-wraps until it's done because of what happened with FPP.

He even buggered off on holiday to avoid constant questions ;) hopefully it's positive news by end of august

Especially if it turns out FPP are still involved in some way.
