Sale is close - Barnsey

I believe if it was this Storey guy buying the club and bragging about it this much the club would confirm he’s involved. As it is, the club is keeping quiet which makes me think it’s all just him and hot air. No doubt we’ll just have to sit and wait till the end of the month and then hopefully we’ll have some long overdue good news.
Or hes a useful f***ing epic madbob idiot

It will be in all shops next year and his value will rocket

You might be right mate, maybe we'll all be kicking ourselves! Still think we're best staying well clear mind!
I kind of like the crazy man, like his passion and what he says, not sure if he will be any good with all the dodgy stories on him, although his does deny them all😀

Aye, you can see how people like him can get people talking about them! I'm the same, I quite like him, he seems a character. If it wasn't so serious I'd be thinking "fuck it, let's give this bloke a try and see what happens". Sadly I think this next sale is critical and if we get it wrong the club could be fucked. He doesn't seem like what I'd call a safe bet!

Would be interesting to atleast find out who his supposed backers are

Aye, I also think Roker Report have missed a bit of a trick by not interviewing him. I know we'd be sceptical about the answers, but it would be of interest even if he was limited in what he could say. I'd be very interested to know how he thinks he (or his backers) can invest £50m when there's SCMP and a potential salary cap coming in. Also how would the money be coming in (would it be a loan that he could claim interest on and try to take back later, rather than the mechanism used by SD with the FPP money). Stuff like that would be interesting, see if he actually has any answers

He's promising 50m investment to get out of league one, so you'd think he must have money from elsewhere. The biggest concern is that he views us as a national platform to get his drinks company off the ground rather than a project he's committed to for its own sake. Nowt wrong with being a bit unconventional in terms of business people, but he seems like a self-publicist rather than an astute operator. The last thing we need in all honesty.

I think the reality is most likely that he's not at all serious. He's using the whole thing to increase his visibility. It gets his name (and his drinks co) in the papers and people posting about it online. It's a realistic story that he can spin at a time when someone is apparently on the verge of buying the club......he's hinting that it's him and hoping no one looks too closely to find out it isn't before writing an article.

It's fairly safe to promise to spend millions when there's no chance you'll ever be asked to.

I think you're likely spot on, just seems strange doing an interview with someone who basically pans him, but then not speaking to the bloke himself when he offers (but still having a back and forth on twitter with him). For me, you'd either think as you do, that he's not serious, and thus ignore him, or you'd get both sides of the story.

For me it isn't Bob that is the problem it is his cronies who attack anyone who dares to question Bob. Wouldn't hurt if Bob showed a little humility either and admitted when he made a mistake, e.g. when he stated that Alan Nixon wrote for the chronicle, when shown to be wrong he doubled down rather than just admit he cocked up.
Just bow out then. You’re never gonna change peoples opinions. The bloke has been banned and is hardly offensive. Just seems daft.

Sitting here in my drawing room bored at the moment. Came on here to get some entertainment from Bob but see he isn't here. Haters are going to hate but i'm team Bob. FTM.

I see William Storey and Roker Report seem to have been having something of a spat on twitter today (here

and elsewhere)

Not trying to defend Storey here, I have no clue if he's legit.

But Roker Report have already decided that he's a chancer and have looked for a source to confirm that (and found a talkshow host).

The whole Haas debacle is interesting, but to suggest that he had no money at all, would suggest that Haas were completely negligent in their business approach to sponsorship.

The fact that he sponsors superbikes has not yet been explained away, it just gets ignored.

Then finally, he's never claimed to be a sole investor, he's stated that he has much more reputable and significant backers. Its easy to discard this, but as he's managed to get his foot in the door at Haas, done business in superbikes etc. It wouldn't surprise me that he's capable of persuading wealthy businessmen to take him seriously.

I've no idea if he's legit, but people are stating for a fact that he's not without knowing anything first hand themselves.
