He's got a canny set of balls on him that Richard Masters mind.

4 months of none stop news stories about how brutal the Saudi regime is, chopping up journalists for writing negative stories about them, the torture and execution of people that disagree with them etc etc etc.
Then you spend four months embarrassing them internationally, you torpedo their deal, not only that but you do it in a way that costs them 17 million....... takes a canny bit of backbone that.

Aye but pissing of the Geordie nation is a bigger deal tho.

They're like a loser who's been spurned by a lass and they cant let go. It's going to take PIF to buy a big club in Europe for it to finally hit home they dont want the scruffy twats

Fortunately my mental health is fairly strong now but I've been down to the bottom and its dark down there. I had no help and it took me a long time and a big fight to get back to somewhere normal so its something I have a strong opinion on (if you hadn't noticed from my rants)

Glad you are at a up point mate. I haven't really suffered myself but people I care about have and still do, so it has pissed me off to see it banded about as a tool.

Cheers bud I've been nearly in tears here with rage and remembering how bad things got.

The issue is the saudis refusal to pay BEIN for broadcasting so the press stance stance is surely sort that out with BEIN and we can move forward

Yes I think that's true, but the Premier League have not said so publicly. They are born cowards, and very malleable. The Saudis might yet well make a sufficient accommodation to do the deal they want.

This would hardly be a surprise, but as I and others have said on here and no doubt elsewhere, I would be finished totally with us had they knocked on our door. A more disgusting and loathsome owner is hard to imagine.

I doubt the saudis will. They would see it as an affront to have to pay a Qatari company coin which is why they pirate coverage in the first place. As far Ias I can see the league has said sort it out yourselves and neither will back down

Their sense of entitlement and decency knows no bounds ! How the media don’t pick up on this and show them up for the shallow wankers they are is staggering and a missed opportunity to show them up as unhinged

I thought you didn't like your fellow mackems contributing to this thread..... ;)
We don’t need to be upset we’ve got Joelinton up front and isn’t Steve Bruce known for taking teams higher and higher?

Young Joe has promised us a fresh start anarl. Should be exciting.

Yeah strange player by her. Was already pressure whilst the bid was still in so don’t know what pulling it out does.

She was lying through her teeth saying piracy wasn’t the issue. Maybe they as a group have been hard done too, there’s clearly other factors at play but to pretend you’re whiter than white and transparent is embarrassing really.

Definitely other factors aside from piracy; Qatar's enmity for KSA, other PL teams, and so on. But make no mistake, this is, as one quoted source states, "1000% about piracy%

Do you think they will ever pass the test given their links to human rights violations, murder etc? If the piracy is the hold up/issue now surely the next step will be that?

It will damage the premeir league brand to let these guys get involved surely?

She is dodgy without bringing the Saudis into it.
Human Rights was never an insurmountable issue. PL don't care about the Yemen, or murdered journalists, they care about protecting their product and making money. The next step for the piracy issue will be the Saudis buying the rights to broadcast legitimately. That's the only way the Saudis will care about protecting PL rights and I honestly thought it would be resolved. Wasn't to be though, too much geopolitical bullshit.

Yeah seen that quote which is why it’s strange she came out and said it wasn’t an issue but they tried to sort it anyways
