I'm absolutely convinced they never wanted this non-takeover to go through. A PR nightmare that could've easily turn into a disaster. They've played an absolute blinder here, delaying, delaying and delaying until the Saudis pulled out so they don't even have a legal case to answer in court. Credit where credit is due
I've been thinking the same. Never had to make a decision, just played the delay game, and they've gone away.

Rivalry aside. The two MPs talking about mental health and one again talking about writing to the Premier League is actually disgraceful really.

This narrative that the top 6 are all corrupt and don’t want them to be in the club.

Yet they say all this about how corrupt it is and how the other owners in the top 6 are dodgy.. but that’s only a disgrace if they aren’t allowed to join them.

Because ultimately if they were to be in the club who cares if it’s dodgy. The hypocrisy is stunning.

If I take my red and white blinkers off for a minute the whole thing just stinks and shows football up for what it is these days. Do we need more oil money adding another super team? I’d argue we need to get rid of this type of model all together and pop the bubble of greed. I’d be happy if it was all clamped down on and the gravy train ended... even if we know it won’t because they’re all involved. media. Agents, premier league management. It’s sickening.

Jarrow's MP may lose as many votes as she wins if she sucks up to the Mags too much.

The idea of sovereign foreign nation states owning English football clubs is ridiculous.

Look at that tracksuit

"I think the club is dead"
Totally dismissing Saudis humans rights record as the same as every billionaire will have done a few dodgy things.

Personally I doubt its the human rights that's put paid to this. Its more likely that bien has threatened to withdraw their rights/money if it goes through. Unfortunately money is more important than a few dead journalists

I was thinking the same thing. Give it a year or so, the Saudi’s get their act together and come back and buy another club. I’m sure most mags wouldn’t object as they seemed to believe the Saudi’s were a canny bunch of lads.

I am sure 97% of Newcastle fans would be in favour of a Saudi take over at Sunderland and human rights would not be an issue. No not at all......

PS - This Sunderland fan 100% would have an issue with it and could not support a club funded by people like that. The reality is they have saved their club today as this take over would have been a disaster for the club, they might have won things but at what price?
