I wasn’t playing on your words at all, I was just asking the question. Was your answer regarding Nick’s info a tad sarcastic as admittedly he hasn’t been a source of particularly good information in the past and for him to be so categorical and factual about what he has said so far is a first on such a vitally important and potentially life changing scenario for our club mate?
i just think he was fed a line from Nixon and or an agent and not directly from SD.
SD would never talk about a takeover in public unless it was a done deal.
now that's a fact.

Anything involving someone owning more than 50% constitutes a takeover, albeit there would be significant minority shareholders. In practice, anyone coming in is going to want at least 76%.
What if 2 or 3 others together bought say 65% of shares available and the existing shareholders kept hold of their shares, and just say if the 65% cost new investors say £22 million what would that achieve Ian. ??
would that be a good deal for the club ??

I read it as you are speculating.
I'm not disputing you get snippets of information regarding the club, from where or what and however true.
I can however categorically state, I know absolutely nothing regarding the clubs affairs and even if i did, I wouldn't post em on here 😁

Not at the rate season ticket sales are falling due to him.
Nig with respect it's only a speculative guess i do not have the facts but i do think those who will not get the club, are on that list. its just what i think.

So Barnes was quite unequivocal about it being a takeover and that SD was not hanging around.

Do we now think it’s gone belly up again and we’re on plan B or was the original info wide of the mark ?

My head hurts

Would these 2 or 3 buy the shares as a group or would the 65% be split between them? Sounds like going to be a lot of people involved in any decision making which normally turns messy

Bob there is no harm in posting your opinion, you can’t into trouble. Just say what you think may happen
But say 3 new investors bought say 65% add Charlie’s 6%, Juans 20% that would leave SD with 9 %. But if Juan was to increase his shares, as he is one of the 2 or 3 investors, he will more than likely become the majority shareholder
*disclaimer*, I make no excuse for my lack of business understanding or mathematics

Nothing has changed since Barnes' initial comments. Everything else is guesswork.

The devil would be in the detail. If no individual has control it could get messy. A lot will depend on the structure above the club. There's a world of difference between 3 people owning a company which owns, say, 60%, and those three as individuals owning 20% each. A larger number of shareholders would force a collegiate approach and a consensus would be needed. It would probably result in slower, but more considered, decisions being made.

So you reckon Barnes has gone out on a limb saying what he’s said so far on the radio and on Twitter from Nixon or an agent?
Would you admit that the owners talked too much in the public arena when FPP were about to take SAFC over initially?
Surely part of Donald’s problem to this juncture in his SAFC tenure is that has talked too much-often cloak and daggers and often contradictory-for you to say he would never talk about a deal in public until it’s done?
Anyway let’s hope something positive happens soon as SAFC are not in a good place right now.

That is why i said i understood your post to be speculation rather than itk.
You did make it quite clear.
;)

What if SD just sold most of his shares and then kept away and had no involvement at all, just in case he could not sell the club

That would not be good enough for me and fits in with previous claims that he wants to gain financially by retaining a stake and expecting any new comer to do all the graft. He is not deserving of this having taking the club and its supporters to its/their lowest ebb in the clubs entire history. Whatever you may personally think of him it’s a stone cold fact that the club has gone backwards under his tenure, in particular on the pitch from the academy to the first team. Essentially football is the main thing you need to get right at a football club. Donald seems to think that reducing spending is more important and seems to deem that to be success. He bleats on about it often enough. Totally deluded to think that reducing costs means he’s done a good job. Literally anyone could have done that.
He needs to go altogether.

Why is everyone talking as if it is not a takeover now, has there been more information or is this just the current strong gest rumour/gut feeling?
