Exactly. In the olden days I would have fucked off on holiday and come back to find us in exactly the same predicament as I left. Now I'm on me bloody phone all day trying to keep up with this and I just know when I get back we'll still be in the shite. Mrs Bresslaw is not happy.

Depends on the type of shares held - it will be detailed in the shareholders agreement but in my experience, the majority shareholder will often have a drag along clause that means the others have to follow his (or their) decision.
