My post below sums it up mate the umpiring has been awful if nothing happened it would have been a fair ball. They just have no clueLack of consistency on no-ball calls there. WI had one exactly the same in the last test and the wicket was given
It's the lack of consistency though. Think it was Gabriel who took a wicket with almost exactly the same "no-ball" and it wasn't called despite numerous replaysNah it’s a no ball. Have to draw the line somewhere
Gabriel did the same in one of the other matches and it was called.Lack of consistency on no-ball calls there. WI had one exactly the same in the last test and the wicket was given
Then why on earth didn't they draw a li.... ohNah it’s a no ball. Have to draw the line somewhere
It’s the amount of no balls not being called is the problem they should be a no ball with a wicket or not. It’s as easy as pressing a button from the tv umpire not hard to do a cricket this level.Gabriel did the same in one of the other matches and it was called.
2 no balls in 35 matches is impressive, got to be gutted to get a wicket off one of them.
It's more that the opposition bowlers have been doing the same consistently this series and I've seen two or three wickets reviewed for the no ball and allowed to standThere was nothing grounded behind the line like.
It’s the bowlers fault, no need to push that close to the line.
Agreed, it's been like that for years, more of a surprise when they are called (apart from for a wicket)It’s the amount of no balls not being called is the problem they should be a no ball with a wicket or not. Hope as post below that it’s brought in and actually works.Agreed, it's been like that for years, more of a surprise when they are called (apart from for a wicket)
Be a boring job wouldn’t it watching the line All game.I'm sure I heard on of the comms yesterday saying that the ICC have confirmed this will be introduced.
Not sure why it can't be in already though, I could sit watching a camera and press a button if it's a no ball or not.
To br fair they're ICC elite umpires and in the case of the two Richards, for over ten years, Gough about five. We just don't see them since the impartial umpires ruling came in a few years ago.County level umpires shown again supposed to give it to the bowler on calls like that.
Haha. Like I say, impartial umpiresI can remember a test v Pakistan where David shepherd missed four no balls and a wicket was taken on each. England lost
No balls are supposed to be called as soon as the foot goes down, which gives the batsman a split second to have a swing in the knowledge he cannot be out caught, bowled, stumped or lbwI'm sure I heard on of the comms yesterday saying that the ICC have confirmed this will be introduced.
