Stokes on lunch at 99,
With the weather around tomorrow, this needs to be a bat once job, 500-550 has to be the target, bat in the same vein for the next hour then up the tempo till tea, after which treat it like a 1 dayer and go for 6 runs an over
 
Bit negative from Holding i think. Think he may have a different opinion when people start batting recklessly and fall like dominoes.
 
Hoping that Stokes gets his century and puts the foot down. Our middle order has been excused for a while as they've been proxy openers, this is the kind of start they should be able to come in and take advantage of.

Easier said than done when the ball is doing a lot. But they will open up at some point. The Windies well take a draw all day long.

We have such a deep batting line up for this test as well. I mean even Broad coming in at eleven got 43 in South Africa.

Grew up watching him and it scarred me for life, I have no issue Sibley grinding it out on difficult wickets and conditions but get the distinct impression he will bat slow in all conditions.

But we not over blessed with openers and although would prefer somebody opening more entertaining than Sibley give the lad his due, he is playing the way suits his game.

Not that I enjoy watching it mind ,terrible to watch for me but each to their own
