Far Cry 6

really not sure I can be arsed with either this or the new assassins creed. Ubisoft fatigue has set in.
will probably pick them up when they’re half price a month after release

Pre ordered 5 after the trailer. Was a huge let down and never managed to get more than 3 hours in. The dlc on Mars was fun.

Might wait for this to drop below £20 within a year.

I feel like the AC games change in setting and time period sets them apart enough to keep them somewhat fresh. The gameplay has evolved a bit too, they're more action RPG these days.

Unity was a very underrated game imo, really focused on stealth for the first time (which is odd for a game about assassins) and they introduced a range of new mission styles such as murder mysteries, heist gameplay and multiplayer co-op.

Far Cry however does very little to change things up. It's literally the same gunplay/outpost capture loop. The settings also feel way less important than AC, and there are other more competent shooters out there that are more satisfying for the nuts and bolts gunplay (see Doom and Wolfenstein)

Agree with that for the most part. AC Odyssey though I just couldnt get away with. Played a decent amount of it too but its just too f***ing big, after playing it for over 20 hours I'd hardly made a dent in the map. The thoughts of doing the same battles and other missions for probably another 100+ hours just didnt appeal to me so I moved onto something else.

I did love origins though, probably just the right size.

Far Cry 5 was boring as fuck, pretty sure I read somewhere it didnt sell aswell as the others either so will be interesting to see if they do anything to try and change itup.

Having real problems getting up any enthusiasm for this. Loved 3 and to a lesser extent 4 but 5 was full as fuck.

ubisoft games are always discounted in the Black Friday digital sales so might wait until then

Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon were outstanding. It's easy to forget Vas wasn't even the main villain in FC3 despite how iconic he was!

Far cry 5 was my first foray into the series so I loved it. I didn't have a clue about it before that so had no idea how to play it when I first picked it up but it was the story that kept me going.

Never played New Dawn so no idea what that was like.

AC Odyssey is easily one of my favourite games. It's just class and I must have put the same number of hours into it as Skyrim 100+
Could not get away with Valhalla. Lovely looking game but the story just not as compelling enough to keep going with some boring and repetitive gameplay aspects like river raiding.

I'll give FC6 a whirl when it drops in price and my PS5 eventually gets delivered (Curry's on the slow)

Anyone got this yet? Thoughts?
Just waiting for it to download. Had bought cyberpunk and was gonna play that but now am gonna wait for the ps5 version of that so need something in between and caved. It's getting better reviews than the last few which is positive. Found 5 a bit dull really but liked 3 and 4.

Most of the reviews I’ve seen are if you’ve played the others since 3 you’ve played this one. Given I got bored of the FC formula at 4 I think I’ll stay clear of this one.

I haven't played a far cry game properly (played a few hours of 2) and I can't think of any ubisoft games I've played properly. I'm tempted by this because I think the setting looks decent.

Got a free code with this last year when I bought my motherboard, it's a really, really fun game but the story is a bit naff. I've barely seen the main villain appear and I'm about 8 hours in

Seen a few reviews calling it Far Cry ‘again’

I mean it’s fine if you like the style of play and formula of their games but even as a huge fan of Ubisoft games in general the style is becoming very stale with little to innovate game to game.
