The EFL do get a share of the play off gate receipts. They’d rather the 4 teams in the play offs next season were Sunderland, Portsmouth, Ipswich and Peterborough as opposed to Burton, Fleetwood, Accrington and Rochdale. It’s slightly tongue in cheek on my part but some of the decisions that have went against us have been shocking. All sport is corrupt to a degree. We’ve benefited from it in the past, look at the way Everton rolled over for us in 2016.

Guess we’ll have to disagree, decisions against us aren’t dodgy the refs just aren’t good enough at this level, seen shocking decisions for loads of teams

They've won the lottery, fair play to them. There's no way on this earth they would've finished in the play offs had the season finished, in fact they'd have more than likely finished about 11th or 12th.

Who says? In the same thread where people are making wild predictions about our form improving and us gaining promotion, why is there ‘no way on this earth’ that Wycombe would?

Those pesky facts again. Ruining the fuming masses.

I stand by what I said. The EFL next season will want us to finish 3rd - 6th. Ofcourse they will. They have a vested interest in it. They get 50% of the play off gate receipts. I was astonished when I found this out, someone posted it on here around 15 months ago.

Will they "let" you win the Play-Offs though?

You must know what you are saying is mental surely.

😂 The EFL couldn’t care if we finished 1st or 24th.

We’re really not that important to them like.

Your random thoughts also make no sense - it’d be better if we were promoted to the Championship (also run by the EFL) as our gates would be higher, at extra cost, earning more money.

Bad decisions will always happen but some are beyond comprehension, the Flanagan goal against Bolton has absolutely nothing wrong with it but was disallowed, the penalty Fleetwood were awarded. Then the hypocrisy of the EFL process, when Toney blatantly cheated to get O’Nein sent off and yet wasn’t given a retrospective ban. In the premier league, look at the penalties the scum gifted Watford at the weekend. Gift wrapped. They hasn’t conceded a premier league penalty all season then concede 2 in the space of 30 minutes to a team who happen to be desperate to win as there’s nigh on 200 million pounds at stake. £££££££.

Whether we win them or not is neither here nor there, but who would Rick Parry what in the play offs next season if he was faced with a choice of either us or Burton ? The EFL have a vested interest in the teams who get into the play offs. That can’t be right, no matter which way you spin it.

They rocketed up about 4/5 places without anyone playing a game. Canny going that.

Plenty of people claimed Wycombe would be a virtual 'Bye' for whoever faced them in the PO's.

People are just falling over themselves to try and find any weird scenario which would see us promoted or feeling unjust.

Like I said, they should concentrate those energies on ousting/raising awareness of the chancers in charge of the club.

You cant say for certain Tranmere would stay up though. So it’s irrelevant.

They underperformed over 36 games and that is their problem. Maybe this will teach teams that it’s important to not rely on a miraculous or late escape and you need to try and perform well from day one.

My other post above also answers the crazy Tranmere model.
 I understand your probably a WUM but this beyond stupid. You should be the manager of Tranmere obviously, so you could have told the players not to leave it till the later part of the season to pick up good form as there might be a pandemic that will end the season early and fuck them over. I honestly don't know why every manager doesn't go with the strategy of winning from the first game of the season, revolutionary!

The way they were playing at the point the league was stopped makes a big difference as form ebbs and flows through the season. The way they were playing they were going to stay up. Not to take this into account is wrong.

Sadly, he genuinely believes it. Many do.
We’ve benefited from corruption in the past. 1981 - Bob Paisley left a bottle of champagne in our dressing room after beating Liverpool at Anfield. 2016 - Everton rolled over for us. Where there’s money there’s a fiddle. People don’t like to hear it’s it puts their prime hobby in disrepute. There’s too much money in football for it not to be corrupt.

You’ve ignored my post above which throws your crazy thoughts out of the water sunshine.

Your facts consisted of claiming Wycombe finished above us when they were a place below when it was halted. They were promoted to third via a weighted system, not due to performance on the pitch.
The fact they were placed third is correct, the notion their points total placed them there is not. Not all teams had played the same number of games so it isnt fact, it is a projection.
