Spoke to him at depth down at MK Dons earlier in the season.

Was a breath of fresh air. Clearly cares, wants thr best for the club, wasn’t afraid to agree about mistakes that the owners/club had made and talk about how he was in it for the long haul.

Easy to say he’s the only shining light at board level

All those words were said about Donald, Methven, the rich lad from Uruguay just a short time ago.
Football changes very quickly.

He’s been there 6 months. Wonder what difference he has made so far..? (genuine question)
Considering he went to his first board meeting last week.....probably not a lot.

Don't blame him, no one could make a positive difference under this muppet regime.

?
They weren’t though. He’s a Sunderland fan, something none of the others will ever be

They were, i could put links up of thread after thread about how open and honest Donald was, a breath of fresh air, Methven was a charasmatic, who liked to mix with the real supporters in the fan zone and Colliery.
Just saying one minute they are the bee knees, next well we all can see its gone pear shaped for them.
Football can be like that.

He’s everything they aren’t, Decent, a genuine affinity and care for football club before personal vanity and gain. I give it six months before the bloke has had enough, I can’t physically listen to Methven these days . As for Donald nothing short of pathetic quivering coward that bloke I hope we never see his face again

Just a media person, what actual influence does he actually have? None would be my guess.

Aye, I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that he's been involved in transfer strategy before, so I'm hoping he'll at least push the obvious (go for young, hungry, pacy players). If they keep signing plodders then they aren't listening and he should walk. He won't be involved in whether to accept a bit for Mumba though, he's not the day to day and his role wouldn't warrant him being asked even if he was
He has at Oxford, no idea if they were any good at recruitment at that time but hopefully will have picked some stuff up.

Personally I wasnt sure on the appointments. It smacked of lip service to the fans.

I'm also in two minds on his twitter reaction, on o e side I was relieved someone e had put there head above the parapet but also worried that now he is going to get tagged into everything and will get to feel a lot of the unrest out there personally.

But I would say having the bottle to do that, gives me a glimmer of hope, I just dont want the enivatable onslaught to make him think twice.

He seems a trustworthy person in it for the right reasons but I think he's on a hiding to nothing really, all he can do is offer his opinion and I doubt it's being listened to.

He's achieved nothing yet. Far better wait and see what he brings to the table rather than throw loads of praise his way just because of a populist tweet about nasty Charlie. We did similar to that two years ago with him and Donald.
