Black Lives Matter

Has it shite. The only whites it’s offended are those with prejudices.

Let’s not forget white right wing groups attacked police last week.
It's definitely stoked up racial tensions that weren't there before. Desperately searching for racism in everything, even when it's not there, has obviously left some feeling oppressed and others feeling like they are being unfairly attacked.

f***ing hell man.

Yep. That's the reason for the BLM as White lives already appear to matter.

Do white lives matter? 3 white people just got stabbed to death by a terrorist & the country/media is still more concerned about a black bloke in america being killed.

Where was the pundits & players ranting about their deaths?

Black people dying seems alot more important than white people to me.

Some thought the Covid crisis was going to bring us closer together and press a reset regarding things that really matter but it now feels like people haven't been as removed from each other. Not for a good 30 years anyway.

Totally agree. Last week it was being said it's brought everyone together. It hasn't at all. Seems like there's always a us v them. Whether it's right v left, Labour v Tory, public v private, stopping in v breaking the rules, now it's heading down a race divide ffs.

That wasn't a racist attack, it was a terrorist attack. In the same way non whites were killed in previous terrorist attacks in this country. Why you're bring race into it I don't know. And if it was (it wasn't) the BLM thing is about decades of institutional racism, not a random or one off event. You don't think this would all be happening if Floyd had been killed in isolation do you?

f***ing hell you're thick.

I saw the comments on Micky Horsewill's post on Facebook and there are some spanners following him. But they're as bad on here too.

The slogan does the cause no favours.
It implies to the layman black lives matter, end of, creating further division between races.
All race matters would have been a better slogan.
Bit late now.

If Black Lives Matter literally just meant black lives matter, then I think the vast majority would be supportive. It's the other shit that is being pushed under the BLM banner (destroying statues, calling for the police to be defunded, calling for white people to kneel, banning everything etc) that causes issues and division.

That copper was a f***ing idiot bully.
That criminal he murdered could of been white.
That’s my take on it aswel nobody knows the previous either he could of arrested that Floyd 10 times previous and its got dangerous and heated could of tried to grab his gun in the past or anything, nobody knows the surrounding circumstances

The attacking of white police, statues etc and the words of certain sections of blacks in the likes of Anthony Joshua and Labour MPs didn’t do the cause any favours.Infact it’s heightened racial tensions between whites and blacks that was never there before. Its been anti White and Anti UK at times.

Why was race bought into george floyd?

This is literally the problem with the whole thing. It's been weeks now n still no one can explain why when BAME people kill white people it's not racist. But if white people kill black or asian people it's racist.

People can see straight through it.

I like you mate. Practically agree with everything you say concerning SAFC.

but don’t you thing it’s way, way over the top what’s happening recently?

I don’t agree with the violence that’s gone on at all mate, but I do think a lot of the protests have been hijacked by other groups. I do agree with what the BLM protests are trying to highlight, which is wanting equality.

Yep, all those last weekend battering fuck out of the police were doing it out of love and to say "we don't want you defunded".

So read this after the game

Kick It Out, English football's anti-racism charity, said the sentiments of the banner flown over the Burnley game represented a grave misunderstanding of the Black Lives Matter initiative.

The organisation's chairman Sanjay Bhandari said: "The point of Black Lives Matter is not to diminish the importance of other people's lives.

"It is to highlight that black people are being denied certain human rights simply by virtue of the colour of their skin.

I’ve never seen any people in this country being denied certain rights because of the colour of their skin except white people. I see plenty of jobs where only BAME can apply only and it’s called positive discrimination. The more things like this happen, the more prejudices there will be. I get that years ago this wasn’t the case but in this day and age it isn’t there in this country and I’d struggle to know anyone who wasn’t employed because of their colour.

I get that people are idiots and do racially abuse, but all these things about statues and words from Anthony Joshua Etc is not helping and is causing this divide
