A very powerful moment in British sport

The Premier League has a track record of #tokenism.

I'm not convinced that these stage managed displays are any different.

Let's see whether the Saudi takeover of Newcastle is approved or whether they're actually serious about their stated aims.
This is an even better argument

No one should ever do anything worthwhile, just in case they are shown to be a hypocrite

I am then accused of "white privilege " which again is something I do not understand . Is a person from a single parent family , educated at a poor comprehensive school , living in the North East more privileged than a wealthy , university educated BAME person from Surrey ?
Surely BAME people from Europe and the USA are more privileged than 90% of Chinese , Indians , Africans and South Americans .

Sorry, no individuals are allowed, you are your group now. White = privilege.

Glad to see the premier league being do interested in human rights. Lets see how keen they are to have Saudi Arabia owning a premier league club. A country that executes people for being gay. They didnt want to support Ozil when he raised the Uighar peoples peusecution by the Chinese government. Love to see the slogan 'Uighar Lives Matter' next week... oh no that wont happen because of Chinese Tv money. What about 'Jewish Lives Matter' oh no that would upset Middle Eastern tv money and how many players would refuse to wear that slogan for 'racist/religious reasons🤔.

Do people honestly think that anyone who despairs at slick, empty, Premiership gestures, must therefore be racist? Crazy.

Some real arrogant, narrow minded people around, forgetting anything to do with race.

No. I dont

I find it bizarre that so many people are apoplectic about it however. And the reasoning is increasingly bizarre

I absolutely hated it tbh. I thought it was a load of PR bollocks. That's just my opinion. I'm not arrogant enough to assume everyone not holding the same opinion is wrong.

Everyone reacts differently to things.

Oh poor you.

It’s absolutely bizarre to get triggered by something that doesn’t impact you in the slightest, and can only help others.

Imagine if instead of this, there was a 2 minute advert on cars, lasses or lager instead.. There wouldn't even have been a thought. Replace it with BLM though and the racist grandads on here are furious.

For me it goes in a similar category to the minutes' applause for everything. It just seems like a self serving preachy thing, and that is worse coming from a multi-billion pound company, who only have morals when it suits.

But aye, racists.

Absolutely not. The only people who have a problem with BLM are those who are racist. Normal people don’t have a problem with black people wanting equality. It shouldn’t even be a debate. If you even question it - then you’re a huge bigot and an absolutely shite human being.
Normal people people don't want the police defunded or statues pulled down. However much you scream racist at them this won't change.
