Spot on...I agree with the 3 words themselves - black lives do matter & I support equality.
However, the organisation behind it is a bit more sinister. Have a look on their gofundme page - they want to abolish the police and want to bring down the existing system (without a feasible suggestion for an alternative).
By getting "black lives matter" on each of the player's shirts the premier league are now deemed to be supporting this, not sure how they'll square that when crowds return and police are needed.
I'd rather they had "kick racism out" on the back of their shirts than "black lives matter"
He's wrong or you disagree?no, now you're wrong there
it is not just looking back with no point
it is acknowledging the wrongs done to others, those that have no voice or ability to stand up for themselves, now that is important, so important
it feeds the future that we need to see affecting real change
also in support of Guardiola it is not he whom is without sin that should cast the first stone or shut up... none of us are perfect, especially regarding our pay masters but he has a voice and it is essential that those with privilege take a stand, or a knee or make a statement because that is where change is brought
no one would have listened to a mother who couldn't feed her children, but they listen to Rashford
no one would listen to Irish Catholics asking that they not be fucked so bad, it took the Protestants and the English who had a voice to bring about effective change
this is a bitter pill to swallow
Guardiola has a voice and I do believe a good heart, he is trying to address an actual issue that needs to be addressed, he doesn't have to be immaculate to do so
it is like when people expect socialists to be poor and ill kempt and shit, otherwise they aren't "proper" socialists... that is ludicrous
this is not the ascetic age, we don't have to run off to live on a pillar in the desert to lend weight to our words, you can be a regular human type person and still have a voice

Politics are not allowed in football

Fact v opinion iirc
To be honest I agree with the sentiment and support the BLM movement. I do, however, baulk at the the idea of £100K a week footballers giving any moral guidance. Football at the highest level is about money only and them taking a knee was more of a PR exercise than anything else.Players taking to the knee before kick off
bbc radio 5 live.
Fuck off.
Maybe not, but that is what BLM stands for and aim to do. The protesters should seek to distance themselves from BLM. The Premier League have done the opposite.I think a lot of those protesting definitely don't want our police defunded. The vast majority of protesters are also not pulling down and defacing statues either.

Would be far braver and respectable than the sheep kneelingImagine the pelters if one player chooses not to join in!

This kind of mentality is why BLM, and racism, should be kicked into touch.People who have a problem with it are part of the problem and are racist.
And a huge racist n all
Careful. They’ll be onto you now and calling you a racist because your not simply falling in line. Fwiw I totally agree with you and kick out racism would have been far more appropriate and supports a fantastic movement that is already in place within football.
The side of the racists?!Not sure that taking the side of racists would be "respectable", no matter the motivations.

Absolute tosh.Probably the most important and iconic moment in Premier League history.
