Ultimately she will fall into line like various western governments and turn a blind eye to the unsavoury side of things and just see the £££s
Money talks and changes people.
I would be embarrassed if I were her, but then again like all politicians she will be selective in her response. After all votes count and she needs to curry favour from the mag supporters and constituents

The point is, she was quite vocal in the Commons about Ashley yet her silence is deafening when it comes to the Arabs and their human rights atrocities

She also got hammered by a significant section on here for bringing it up in parliament in the first place. Wasting time, insignificant, etc.

Are you now saying this potential takeover should be brought up and discussed in parliament?

I think she should be held to account for her hypocrisy, If she felt that Strongly about Ashley and his practices surely she should be as vociferous with the link between the Saudis, their atrocities and takeover of Newcastle United. Do you agree?
She was.
Are you saying that is in some way the fault of Newcastle fans?
Not at all, my argument is to do with the hypocrisy of Chi Onwurah

I'm not defending Chi Onwurah, can't stand her, would never vote for her, I was on Ashley's side on the zero hours topic as it was none of her business.
It's not hypocrisy though as they are two different things. It would only be hypocrisy if the Saudis came in and used zero hours contracts and she was suddenly fine with it.

At the end of the day she is there to represent her constituents and if the people she represents don't give two fucks about what goes on in Saudi and are keen for the take over to go ahead I see no reason why she is obligated to piss on their parade.

So, in effect she does not give a shit about the Saudis, their atrocities and links with your club?

Btw thank you for your reply #Sima seems to be hanging back on his response to my question

The point is she was was calling Ashley worse than shit about the way he was treating the fans and staff yet hasn’t mentioned anything about about the Saudis

I would suspect you are probably right and she probably doesn't although I'm sure she finds the regime a moral black hole.
I might just be being cynical but my view of MP's is unless they are revolutionaries the only thing they care about is getting voted back in the next time elections come round, and when ever they speak publicly that is what they have in mind first and foremost.

She probably disagrees with zero hours contracts and because the people that vote for her dislike Ashley having a go at him will win her more votes than she will lose so she will speak out.
She probably disagrees with the Saudi regime, but because the people that vote for her want it to go through, it will cost her more votes than she will gain if she speak out so she will say nothing.

The Saudis haven't treated the fans and staff like shit, if they do and she says nothing it will be very hypocritical.

I fully put on record I do not give a flying fuck about Saudi policies. Not interested one iota.
I do though sincerely hope though they buy NUFC and spend fortunes.

Keep that honesty up and I think you probably reflect the majority. But these others ones acting liked the legal defence for the Saudi's (AndyH you know who you are) are just cringeworthy.

That’s exactly the point. Sports direct signage, not putting a load of money in to a football club and zero hours contracts are worth raising in a Parliament, but a murder or rape don’t seem to be so important. Weird that 🤷‍♀️

She’s there to raise the significant concerns of her constituents as their MP. if her constituents don’t have a significant concern with the prospective Saudi takeover it won’t be raised. If they do, it will and it may be ‘vociferous’ as you allude to.

I have to say, at a time when I thought my views on politicians couldnt get much lower that’s one of the saddest indictments I’ve seen or read.
Not a dig at you, or even at newcastle, more the sad state of what politicians will do to save their own skin. Principles, beliefs out of the window in favour of hypocrisy

its a good point @AndyH makes. The stance she makes on Ashley is completely irrelevant to whatever her opinion is on the Saudis.

I’m just being brutally honest. I absolutely think it represents the majority of all football fans, not just NUFC.
