Im not sure if he was treat like that because he was black the police man was just an absolute bulls knacker on a power trip

Interesting response from the moderators over this thread and my objection to it on the grounds that it (like the Yedlin thread now removed to Politics) should go the same way because it too is off topic for this PF forum.
Report rejected.

If this thread was in Politics, I doubt they would move it to pure football either.

The point being that it could belong in either forum and we don't have the option to display a thread in 2 forums at once.

Yes its political, but it is also about a footballer who has played for Sunderland and there is very little going on in the football world at the moment.

It's got really bad, like. Pretty toxic atmosphere on here at the minute. At the beginning of all this madness you had that hope that things might change for the better as we all pulled together. Now, a few weeks down the line, people are at each others' throats even more vehemently than they were before. Some of the mindsets on here have really shocked me over the past few days as well. It's pretty depressing.

Aye I’m the same mate, reading the Trump/US threads on top of the Covid sub forum has really opened my eyes.

Well I think that's obvious - he said it himself that he doesn't feel safe. Presumably he could afford to leave, so he should if he is that afraid. On the other hand, of course he shouldn't have to, but the sensible thing to do would be leave for peace of mind.

Then those that threaten his safety have won. It sets a dangerous (and disgusting) precendent.

But who is threatening his safety? It is his surely his perception - he didn't say he'd actually been threatened, but he does say he's never felt 100% safe over there, so that is clearly not the place for him to be. He would be the winner, nobody else, as he'd have peace of mind. But maybe the money is more important than his mental health............

Why would they ?
It clearly doesn't have any justification to be in PF and would be correctly categorised there.
It's a 100% political thread that happens to originate from a footballer who happened to play for us.
Do you really define what is and isn't acceptable on Pure Football based on a lack of newsworthy football stories ?
It should go the same way as the Yedlin thread and any other threads that have cock all to do with SAFC or football.

Why should he leave? He's completely innocent.

You can mitigate for not being 100% safe. Christ, I don't feel 100% safe right now as some dafty could kick my door down for whatever reason but there's obviously a tipping point and he feels he is at it. Again though, why should he run regardless of how much money he has?

In the USA yes but only 1/5th of the population is black, so of course more white people have been killed they make up 80% of the population.
Not everyone gets arrested
What I will say is been a copper in America is a totally different ball game you can get killed at any minute everyone has guns etc would you take any risks ???

Oh Lord, this is like a never-ending circle - you've answered your own question, even before you've asked it!

Why should he leave? He's completely innocent.
He feels unsafe in an environment he doesn't have to be in - he has a choice - stay or go. Not sure what his innocence or otherwise has to do with it. I used to feel scared at your place in the 70s and I was innocent, so I stopped going.....after the Gary Rowell game!
