Butter or margarine

The basic method of making margarine today consists of emulsifying a blend of oils and fats from vegetable and animal sources, which can be modified using fractionation, interesterification or hydrogenation, with skimmed milk which may be fermented or soured, salt, citric or lactic acid, chilling the mixture to solidify it, and working it to improve the texture

Yum Yum
Flora
100% plant.
and put crude oil on ya bait - no thanks
??

Sure I read somewhere once that margarine was originally developed as some sort of cheap food stuff for turkeys and they gobble gobbled it down and died

Either that or I dreamt it

Butter - margarine is slimy manky grease.

Who prefers the natural taste of butter over a tub of yella grease?

And got to be Lurpak too
Always preferred olive oil-based margarine like Olivio, but the wife started insisting on Lurpack Spreadable and I have to say I'm enjoying the change

I'll probably die 5 years earlier that I was going to, but at least I'll have the sweet release of death.............

Flora
100% plant.

??
Flora contents includes palm oil. The global demand for palm oil is blamed for the loss of tropical hardwood forests which are being cleared for palm oil plantations. This clearance leads to the destruction of orangutan habitat in places such as Borneo and Sumatra. Some food manufacturers have attempted to source sustainable sources of palm oil but these are too few in number and account for about 1% of production.

Lurpack every time (although that lidl danpack wasn't too bad when i tried it)

Old man buys that shitty flora stuff. Rank shite.

Surely everyone should use margerine?
Butter is high in saturated fats, gives you a whole host of issues, mainly heart disease.
Plus, by consuming it you're implicit in the torture and rape of millions of cows.
Nice.
Use margerine.

run that torture and rape thing by me please, not for me but our lass is a butter stalwart, maybe I can swing her round to margarine.

Thankfully Flora palm oil is sustainable.
Good to see you're also environmentally aware mate.
You'll know that palm plantations take up far less room than other oils (supplies 35% of the oil on 10% of the land) , so the issue isn't the palm oil, its the governments using deforestation for the plantations.
Rspo palm oil is sourced from sustainable companies.
However so many good have palm oil in, which aren't RSPO credited
So if that's your reason you were worried about Flora, you can have Flora, it's fine, but no biscuits, and of course no meat, as all cattle feed has palm oil in (except pure grass fed cattle, which is a bit more expensive and still usually has diet supplemented with palm oil laden feed!)
So unfortunately no dairy (milk, cheese or butter).
Seems mental doesn't it, cutting down rainforest to get palm oil to supply lots of feed for animals, which we then eat the animals. The most uneconomical use of a product. No wonder the world is fucked.

Here you go marra, and a fit lass to look at too.
Dairy is, imo, worse than meat.
I have no doubt that uk dairy farms arent as bad as other country's (the UK and EU have the best animal welfare in the world).
But as nations get richer, they want more dairy and meat. To copy the western world.
Chins overtook the Usa in meat production recently. More land used to get feed, to feed cattle.
More 3rd world countries will be expanding meat production.
More pandemics. Worse environmentally.
But dairy, no matter how good the animal welfare is, cows are forcibly impregnated.
When the calf is born it is taken away from its screaming mother as soon as its born (the male calf killed for veal, and we can't have the baby calf drinking its mother's milk, that's for humans!).
The mothers milk is then pumped out regularly for us. This process happens 4 or 5 times till the cow dies a really premature death from its horrible life!
