Best fish & chips you've had?

I used to like the Hole in the wall, i used to ask for a small portion but got a bucketful and if i fancied a better portion i used to go to the one further down the road past the garage but that was 20 or so years ago. I find Reds in the Galleries canny.

Tip - Don't ever ask for a fish-cake in Yorkshire you will not believe what you get.

Its about £30 with a coke,cod or haddock from billingsgate,the food court has had a recent revamp,this was the old chippy,beautiful meal.

When I was a kid the best fish and chips or patty and chips with scraps was from Cushlow's in king oswy drive shops. The smell and the taste was fantastic and when I was at school and had the chance to get some dinner money, I always went there and got a bag of chips and a small loaf from the bakers; hollowed it out and filled it with chips, washed down with a nice can of Jusoda.

I suppose those shops actually at the seaside or on quaysides will taste better as you are eating outdoors in the sea air , which always helps. You will assume the fish is fresh too.

The portion sizes nowadays are crazy, maybe it’s a scratter thing ?
If you prefer quality over quantity tho, you can get a “small fish and chips“ at Daniela’s which is just about a normal meal size.
