Football Manager 2020

My first season as manager of Real Madrid went very well. Given that they've only won 1 trophy in the last 5 years and were predicted to finish 3rd, I was impressive. Finished the season on 90 points, 12 clear of Barcelona. I fell short in the Champions League though, going out in the QF's to Roma when I was expected to reach the semi's.

I beat Barcelona 4 times this season with an aggregate score of 13-3.

I spent £250m (£84m net) to rebuild this squad. With the exception of 1 defender, the rest were all 21 or younger, setting the club up for the future. I couldn't help myself with my main signing, paying my old club Sampdoria the £74m buy out fee for Jude Bellingham. He had a solid season scoring 8 goals and 5 assists. He'll be way better next season, he's now considered a world class midfielder at the age of 21. My star player was the wonderkid striker Herrero. 35 goals in all competitions at the age of 20.

Next season will be my last at Real Madrid. It's fun, but not usually my kind of save. I'll go all out, aiming to win everything then I'll move on to international management after the 2026 World Cup. I'll be looking for one of the 10-12 big countries that have sacked their manager and I'll take them on a 4 year journey trying to win the 2028 continental trophy followed by the world cup. But first up, I am going to blow a shit load of money in the summer at Madrid and dominate for 1 season.
.

My summer has turned ridiculous and entertaining by 2 things I didn't factor in:

1) The World Club Championships is now a full on tournament. I picked a squad of 23 and 7 of them were called up for the Under 21 world cup before the tournament started. So I had 15 players all tired after the end of the season. I got through the group easily but then had to play Atletico in the QF 2 days after a group game and lost 2-1. Some of my players had fitness levels of around 40% by the end of the game.

2) The Club Presidential elections. Upon retaining his seat for another 4 years, the president promptly went out and signed 2 players of his own accord that he had promised the fans. I didn't event get a say in it.

I'm not overly disappointed by the signings though

Finally signed the centre half I've been after for nearly two years. He kicked off the day after transfer deadline because I hadn't improved the squad after he signed (I had), said he wanted a move to a club with a manager he could trust, missed training three times and then asked if I could bring in a former team mate to help him settle and then missed Liverpool away because he was in a nightclub before. First time I've ever had a player miss a match rather than just training.

We're not even past October. So yeah it's going well.

Been here five months now...

Five missed training sessions, two matches missed and one broken ankle for his team mate in training. Nutter.

2025/26 season on my Everton save was a great one Premier League and Champions League double

We won our 2nd consecutive title mainly setting the pace for most the season dropped a few points in games where we played our 2nd XI resting key players for bigger games. Biggest win 7-1 v Spurs and biggest defeat a shock 3-1 v the mags

Arp - 36 games 26 goals 6 assists
Kean - 33 games 24 goals 6 assists
Pellegri - 31 games 20 goals 16 assists

My midfield 3 were superb too Olmo 7 goals 19 assists/ Moriba 12 goals 8 assists/ Tonali no goals but 9 assists as a DLP

8 of the XI made it into the team of the season including Pickford who got injured towards the end of the season

Champions League win honestly went into it knowing we'd win it with the team I've got

We smashed Roma 6-1 on agg Man City 8-4 on agg in the Semi Final and finished it off with a 2-0 win against Real Madrid in the final at the Bernabeu

I managed to get 5 million for Hume

Currently valued at 7M for me. Just got promoted into the PL with Lads. Won L1 at a canter, was expected to challenge for Play offs after a takeover and 34M investment. Was 7 or 8th for most of the season but managed to put 4 wins on the bounce on the board and ended up 3rd level on points with 1st placed Watford and 2nd placed Wigan going into the last day and had to play Watford away. Had a 3 goal advantage on both. A 2nd minute Dobson volley and Aiden McGeady scoring in his last ever game as he announced his retirement just days before the game secured the title as Wigan lost to Boro (already relegated to L1)

Just had a £14M with 20% of profit of next sale bid accepted for Bellingham.

That looks like a cracking side, but I can't believe Bellingham isn't starting. I've signed him twice on my save, he's incredible!

Bellingham is my favourite player on this game by a mile. He's outstanding and can pretty much be trained to play on either of the wings or as an attacking midfielder. I play him in the centre of midfield as a mezzala and his dribbling from the middle of the pitch is exceptional.

Pretty much identical to mine - 22 years old, valued at £66m and 22 England caps.

In fairness I've just looked up Moriba on my game and he's ridiculous! He's at Chelsea on mine, who are a bit of a powerhouse again.

Hume was valued at 10.75 million at his height for me, no one was willing to pay anywhere near that though, Rangers offered 5 million and I snapped their hands off

Bellingham signed for the scum in my first season unfortunately :(

My final season with Real Madrid was absolutely dominant in the League. The hardest part was trying to balance my team as it was ridiculously top heavy. I won the Spanish cup as well, making it a double. The Champions League was a huge let down. After easily winning my group I was drawn against Man City in the second round. The game at the Etihad was ridiculous - I went 4-0 in the first half despite it being a fairly even game but pulled it back to 4-3. A 1-0 home win in the return would have been enough. City came and played 5-4-1 completely parked the bus. They scored with their only attack of the game and despite having 26 shots and 13 on target, I only scored 1 goal myself and went out 5-4 on aggregate. Still, 5 trophies in 2 seasons isn't the end of the world. As soon as awards season is over, I'll resign and await the outcome of the 2026 World Cup to choose my next role. I have a pretty long list of teams I'm looking at (obviously I want to win in 2028 and 2030):

Teams I'm hoping for: England, Italy, Spain, France or Brazil
Teams I'll settle for: Argentina, Holland, Colombia or Mexico
.
Turns out that I was hot shit this summer. I turned down interviews from Liverpool, Man City, Spurs, Everton, Inter and PSG whilst waiting for my international adventure.

The World Cup was won by Italy, who beat Spain 3-0 in the final. My old Sampdoria striker Sebastiano Esposito scoring the winner. So both countries kept their managers and were ruled out. But all 3 of my other choices sacked their managers... and all 3 offered me their jobs!!

So my options were as follows:

Brazil - Ageing squad but the main attacking threats are Vinicious Junior and Rodrygo (who was excellent for me at Real Madrid). Plenty of wonderkids in the under 20's mean they'll be strong over the next few years but I didn't fancy it as much after looking at the squad.

England - I mean, I don't have to say much more than "Jude Bellingham" , but they still have Sancho, Trent, Greenwood and Rashford who would be around for the next world cup in addition to Sterling, Kane, Stones and Pickford who will be there until the Euros. Plus they have a load of youngsters coming through. But I decided against stalking Bellingham, I'll sign him again when I go back to league football.

France  - The stars of France were the stars of my Real team last season - Mbappe and Cammavinga. Rayan Cherki is now 22 and an absolute star as well. They've got a great core and plenty of options coming through, but it's time to rebuild and let Pogba, Griezzman, Areola, Lemar, Hernandez, Pavard and Coman retire.

In my third season in the Prem with Gateshead and snuck into 7th place and into the EURO Cup II. My stadium got expanded to make it 23k so in the meantime I was playing at the Riverside stadium. Been one of the most enjoyable games I’ve played taking them from the Conference North with no money to the Prem with 90m in the bank and a new stadium

With France I won the Euros and Olympics in the same Summer, trying to win the World Cup with them then might try and get a South American international job.

How long did it take to get to the prem

This worth playing on mobile??

Mobile version is ridiculously easy, any player can grow into a world class player if you give them game time and the right training. Connor Mclaughlin was in the premier league team of the season for me, for example. I didnt find it fun due to how easy it was.

Gone back to my Sunderland game after not bothering with it for weeks. Into my 9th season after finishing 7th last season but have revamped the squad and gone 352 after tweaking the Vertical Tiki Taka pre set. Two mezzalas and a DLP on defend in midfield.

Currently top of the league at Christmas and keeping clean sheets galore but can't seem to get a tune out of the strikers, they just get marked out of the game. Tried tweaking their roles and playing an AM behind them to link to but it was all a bit too congested in the final third and no space so dropped the AM back. Anyone had any success with 2 up front? Most of my goals come from set pieces

Ahh well fuck that then. Cheers
