I've been trying since the 8th April mate...30 -40 times a day and no luck...I then tried every number TUI had ....All had the same message..They are deliberately not answering.. We should have been returning early this morning from our cancelled holiday but guess what, I had an Email from TUI with a "Credit Refund Note" asking you to contact them...... and they've removed their contact details..Not worth the paper its written on. More to follow I'm sure..Couldn’t get through to TUI after trying for four days so got the bank to reverse the credit.
Think about paying it marra...Dont is my advice. We are just going to cancel ours.
It's with TUI and isn't until the end of August. We've already paid £600 but the remaining £3k is due at the end of May.
It's pretty unlikely that it would go ahead, and I'd rather just write off the £600 than hand over another £3k in the hope it will be refunded (and refunded in cash, not vouchers etc.).

Clearing the deck, forget ATOL, forget ABTA ,at the minute, as the Company has not went bust, yet.I was already a bit annoyed as the majority of operators had already cancelled flights and holidays up till June, but TUI hung on to keep the money in. Once they’d finally cancelled ours (should have been flying on Sunday), they had already changed the policy to the credit note.
Small print said to ring for a refund but you can’t even sit on hold ffs. Can’t be doing with that. Fortunate I had paid on my credit card, though had to wait 2 and a half hours to get through to my bank to reverse the credit.

Legally, they (TUI) have to give notice of changes to their Terms and Conditions and cannot change those Terms and Condition once you have booked without your consent.. I've had enough time to brush up on the law, speak with a solicitor dealing in this specific type of consumer law and also have read their T&C's. I booked in October last year. Notified on the 8th April of cancellation , at that point the contract was terminated between us. I received on the second notification of cancellation on the 21st April with a linked document titled T&C's Before 17th March 2020. Once you have received notification of cancellation, the contract between you and TUI is terminated and at an end.
Their documents for Hols before March 17 state, for me as the final option, a full refund. They (TUI) have by Law, under the The Package Travel & Linked Travel Regulations 2018 ,the organiser (TUI) must refund all payments made by or on behalf of the traveller without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days after the contract is terminated. This is the legal obligations TUI have under UK consumer Law and EU legislation also. Mine field I know . I'm waiting for a telephone call that hopefully will sort mine out but I've already prepared County Court papers to submit online.. At relatively low cost and to end my frustration with TUI hopefully this will lead to some action... I've no other way to force them to give me my money back.
Really impressed with Premier Inn. They've let me cancel two bookings with full refunds despite me paying the lower rate when you aren't supposed to be able to cancel. I'll certainly be using them again once this is all over.
you could say that...I'll not go into the DD claimback with my bank....Best of luck with it mate. Sounds like you’ve had a canny time of it compared to me.
Update. After Hoseasons agreed the refund, minus the £40 admin fee, i looked around for a similar cottage for 8 of us for the same week next year. Found one or two, but also find a really nice one on the hoseseasons site, for £400 more than we'd paid for the 2020 cottage.i got a refund minus £40 admin fee, which works out 2.8% of the cost
but will take 6-8 weeks to arrive, due to backlog!!
I messaged tui on there Facebook messenger chat, they seem to reply every 6 days but if you put in all your info and leave no questions in the first message then it may be easier, we just rebooked ours but charged us ammendment fee, but after 3 messages it's now sorted with the ammendment fee refunded and the 20 percent taken off the new booking.I've been trying since the 8th April mate...30 -40 times a day and no luck...I then tried every number TUI had ....All had the same message..They are deliberately not answering.. Where were you going? I've got NY booked for the end of June, applied for a voucher 3 weeks ago but heard nothing.I got the cancellation email from BA yesterday for our flights at the end of June. Was on hold to the refund line for about 10 minutes and then got confirmation that it was all sorted after about 5 minutes. Girl on the phone said it would take between 2-4 weeks and I'd get a confirmation email so over the moon with how quick and easy it all was. To be honest I didn't think they'd be cancelling anything in June just yet so was expecting to just get the voucher.
...Girlfriend's already spent the refund money like
