I wouldn't disagree.
If they put some good investment into the infrastructure and then buy a couple of good players for the 30-40 million mark each window I would be absolutely delighted.
As long as they have a plan how they can get us competing in the top half of the table and not have us in a relegation dog fight each year I am more than happy.
It would be nice not have photos of our players in paddling pools and standing in wheelie bins full of ice going round

a couple of joelintons 🤔 :D ;)

Everthing you need to know about Downie is that he hasn’t even mentioned the recent news about SAFC (even to dismiss it) yet will report on inactivity at NUFC.
I don’t believe in the ‘Magedia’ but I do believe he actively ignores Sunderland
He is the only North East football journalist not to mention anything about The Times story and Madrox. All the rest have either reported it or comment on it. Downie hasn't even acknowledged it.

well ideally not, a couple in a similar price bracket but who are not shit.
I still can't get my head round that signing, why Ashley was desperate to get him for 2 years and where the 40 million price tag came from.
There has got to be some kind of shady shit going on with that deal somewhere.
Hard to judge if there's a good player in there at all. I've seem glimpses of ability, but too infrequently and not even throughout a game. I do wonder how he would have played in a team with Perez and Rondon. Or a team managed by a football manager, instead of a sentient bag of turnips.

Are you his agent.Every mug I’ve spoken to has said he’s absolute shite at everything. If Rondon and Perez were in your team, what would he add? He cannot hold a ball, head a ball, pass a ball, cross a ball or go past anyone.

Sorry mate, he’s absolutely shite!

No, I'm just saying that it's hard to judge player's ability when he's played out of position, for a team that sees fuck all of the ball, under a manager who has them playing terrible football.

I wonder how highly Rafa rated him.He said he wasn’t worth £40m but how much , and would he have wanted him for say £20m
No idea, I know Rafa was blocking it and refusing to sign off on the deal, don't know what value he would have put on him.
It's not so much his ability that i question, it's the price tag. Like Fish i have seen flashes of a player in there somewhere but nothing that warrants the price tag.

A player gets valued at 40 million because he is playing well for his team and several clubs are interested in him.
He was playing for a mid table German side and they had him out on loan for the last 2 seasons because he wasn't good enough.

I don't see how Hoffenheim would look at a player they haven't thought good enough to make their squad never mind their first team and have loaned out for two seasons and think, yer we can get 40 million for this lad.
Even if they did I can't see how Newcastle would look at the same and think, fuck yer that's a bargain worth spending 2 years chasing.

For me there has to be something underhand going on there.

Don’t know if you realised, but Rafa left last year.
Brilliant.
I ws going to post the very same, however didn't fancy 500 lines of Rafa good / Brucey bad, in response.

NUFC 18/19 19/20
Attack
Goals 16th 20th
Shots F 14th 17th
Shots OT 16th 18th
Poss % 19th 20th

Defensive
GA 8th 13th
Shots A 9th 17th
Tackles 4th 14th
Intercept 4th 11th

Attack is a little worse, defense is much, much worse.
Few shy of 500 lines.
