Jealousy? Are you sure you actually expend time and energy and go to games? As you really do not seem to understand how a football fans mind works? If this is happens and you are signing Mbappe (yeah right) etc. then we will be irked, pissed off at your condescending comments but jealous? Not at all. Not one single thought of jealousy. You choose your club, or to borrow the Everton phrase, are born to your club, and stick with it. I just said to my 12 year old will you jealous of Newcastle, if the signed Mbappe. He laughed...all it meant to him was not being able to pick him for his FIFA team!

Everton fans are not jealous of Liverpool? Real Man Utd fans are not jealous of City. It just makes that win, when it comes all the more sweeter.
Well reasoned and coherent.

Envy is a better word than jealousy.

I just want my club to be the best that it could be.

I envied your club when a charismatic figurehead such as Niall Quinn was in a leadership position. Only because the club was presenting itself as the best it could be when Ashley could not care less.

And 'parish' FFS !
Excuse the extent of the vocabulary.
well it is the cathedral on the hill

I think that comes from the location being uniquely In the centre of the city, perched atop the hill dominating the cityscape.

Also it has been said in the byline of many a national newspaper that football is a religion in Newcastle.

Some moniker’s just stick. “Theatre of dreams” is the one that irks me.

They are never rationally thought out arguments presented here. Moreover, the flailing rants of jealousy.

If figureheads with the charisma and personality such as “Keegan” are welcomed back to the parish we will be ok.
Seemingly you despair at the arguments on here not being rational. If it bugs you that much why do you come on?

I learnt in the school debating society that it is not a debate if one point of view is expressed.

I provide some balance most don’t feel the need to get angry and swear.

Evidence?

Probably going off social media. I'd say 90% of other fans commenting on Facebook on BBC and Sky Sports pages are very supportive of the Mags and hope it goes through. A lot of sky boys across the UK will believe the myth that they get 52,000 every home game without fail and that they are the worst suffering fans in world football because of Mike Ashley. Plus there isn't really any animosity for the Mags outside the North East despite what people on here say. Most people in the rest of the UK don't give a fuck about them (or us). If it was someone like Leeds getting took over then I'd expect a lot of neutrals would be against it.

What you say at the beginning is very true and that's how I've found it .
An Arsenal fan wished us luck and said he wished it had been them.
Seemed strange thing to say as they are a top team and also have Billionaire owners..

But they’ve “only” won the FA Cup a few times recently. Whatever happens I really hope I would never see winning things as having such little value.

Yes, many myths get repeated so much they enter the national consciousness.

“The famous atmosphere” pretty much has not existed for 15 years but we cannot change the narrative of lazy headline writers.

With the right impetus, the club can turn the tap back on and a whole new generation can see the passion north east people have for their football.

Sky and the Premier league need a bit of it to enhance their product. They need the zeitgeist of Newcastle 93-96 back.

Newcastle fans celebrating goals is a spectacle. Remember those closing credits to Monday games in the 1990’s accompanied by “that’s entertainment” by the Jam.

It’s just different to Leicester fans with their “clappers” when Newcastle score. It is more euphoric and embodies a deeper pride way beyond a mere football club.

seriously do you post on a Mags forum? is so which one?
Recommend one please, this is where Newcastle discussion board web search took me.

I like to indulge the right hand side of my brain with creative writing.

Some of these posts are not just thrown together it takes a certain imagination.

I deliberately never resort to profanity or petty slurs but if my writing offends I will happily risks your recommendation.

Are you asking me to search out a Mag forum for you? also why do you keep starting sentences on separate lines?
