Wrestling - Part 3

The MLW Super Series is fantastic stuff. The Super Series is a battle between MLW and AAA. So far MLW are leading 4-1 I think.

But the officiating has been atrocious by the AAA referees. Total bias. When AAA wrestlers attempt a pinfall they count fast but when a MLW wrestler attempts a pinfall the count is slow and often they delay counting the pinfall.

Still, good to see Brian Pillman Jnr. and Davey Boy Smith Jnr. teaming up as The Hart Foundation.

This is wrestling you're talking about, yes?

MLW is Major League Wrestling. It's on FreeSports or online. AAA is the Mexican Lucha Libre wrestling.

The Super Series is an inter-promotional competition pitting MLW superstars against AAA superstars.

But lately there has been an extreme case of bias refereeing on the part of the Mexican referees.

I think he was hinting at with it being wrestling its all a work so the refs fast counting is part of the story

Just me, or does Money In The back actually sound like it might be good?

The concept is class*

*except f***ing Otis

I think it sounds really really good, and far better than just another empty arena ladder match - fair play to them coming up with something innovative. I also quite like the idea of both the men's and women's running simultaneosuly, and it'll be interesting what spots and interactions they come up with.

Also interested to see who gets this final spot on RAW tonight (or tomorrow morning from my POV). There's talk of a significant return, so he could be favourite to claim the spot, perhaps Jinder, or maybe one of Zelina's boys, can't really see beyond that with Owens out.

I've never watched so much wrestling in my life these past 6 or 7 weeks. I'm watching all 3 WWE shows, AEW, and I even watched Impact the other day, although the latter will be long forgotten if and when other sports start coming back. I've let my Network subscription run on from the free trial, so my first ever tenner came out the other day, and I'm also listening to a lot of podcasts on my daily walk - I feel like a young kid again :), but seriously, I do need some kind of live sport / entertainment in my life, and with no tennis, football or boxing, this is definitely filling a void, and while a bit controversial, I'm personally very grateful that they are continuing in these times.

Oh, I'm also currently watching Tough Enough season 6 on the Network, and that's a really good watch.

I'm with you on watching a shit load. I've had the shows on in the background while working. I've watched all the RAW, smackdown, NXT and AEW Dyanamite and Darks since I was off, as well as a load of old ECW ppvs

Should be 2 good shows in the early hours.

Adam Cole vs Velveteen Dream for the NXT title (obviously a bit of controversy over the latter at the moment, plus I didn't realise that was him on Tough Enough 6 until he was eliminated and I Googled him). Charlotte vs Io for the women's title, and Kross and Scarlett debuting, although not sure if that's a match or just cutting an in ring promo.

AEW going live again so a fuller roster for them to choose from (incluidng a returning MJF). Matt Hardy's in ring debut, Y2J back in the ring, plus Cody mentioning a few surprises. They've also only got 3 more Dynamites (including this one) before their DoN PPV on the 23rd which currently only has Cody vs Lance Archer for a new secondary title, so we should see more coming together for that.

I know ratings are generally going right down, particularly RAW and Smackdown, but it's good that the 2 Wednesday shows are at least trying to put out decent content, and I'm looking forward to watching both tomorrow (NXT first).

really hope io wins as having Charlotte as champion is doing nothing for me

Bit harsh on the hardest working woman in any industry - she works Mondays and Wednesday's you know

I'd like to see it, but I can see Charlotte holding on to it until Rhea's visa issues are sorted, so probably best case scenario would be a strong looking loss. I guess they could have Io go over tonight, but then drop it back in a week or two to create more talking points.
Anyone else up to date with Dark Side Of The Ring? Herb Abrams episode has been my fave so far.

I've watched them all bar this episode. I think Season 2 hasn't been great since the Benoit episodes, although last weeks was a bit better. I have been watching S2 on YouTube which has been hit and miss, although I see they are on watchwrestling, so I watched Schulz on there, and will watch Herb Abrams on there soon. Looking forward to the Owen Hart one.

I was a little disappointed in the NXT show the other day. Thought it might have been a bit of a mini takeover, but it just ended up being a treading water tick over, which is fine, but at the same time you kind of do want things to happen in the empty arena era as you never know how long it'll be until fans are allowed back in. 7 mins (excluding the commercial break) for the main event wasn't great, although Dream's current circumstances might have influenced that a bit. Rhea coming back is interesting and will no doubt lead to a triple threat where Charlotte will probably lose the title without taking the pin, but I was hoping for more than what we got in the women's title match. Loved Karrion Kross' entrance though, that was the highlight of the night for me, and he already feels like a massive deal.

I think AEW had the better show this week. They have done a good job with Lance Archer - he's come a long way since his 'Vance Archer' WWE day 10 years ago, and that TNT title match at the upcoming PPV feels important, and while a bit of a clusterfuck, I loved that main event street fight, ha. It's obviously controversial in the circumstances, but the staff crowd (apparently all tested) definitely does add to it, and I think they have their setting best out of all of the 4 main shows.

I'll record Smackdown to watch in the morning. Not expecting much to happen. I see there are 6 matches on the MITB PPV this Sunday and 2 of them are at the same time (the actual MITB matches), and I heard they will be starting them off, then going to the other matches in the PC, but cutting back to the HQ stuff every so often - it'll be interesting to see how that all plays out. I reckon Sonya and Mandy will be interupted early tonight and that'll probably get added to the PPV card.
MITB card predictions?
 Forgot about the double posting, despite being nearly 48 hours between posts. Would have been bumped back on the old format.
