When Brian Clough left a blank page about what directors know about football he knew what he was doing. The demise of SAFC over the last 4 years since big Sam left defies belief but elevates Clough's opinion to a whole new level where the previous owner appointed Moyes, Grayson and Coleman before a chancer took over to go from Conference to League 1 and promote himself 2 divisions. Ross and Parkinson have since managed to keep us in his spectrum but way below the level of supporters expectations. Will SAFC put out a team that would have made Brian Clough proud ? Not in my remaining lifetime they won't and a support and stadium that is the envy of half the premier league, underachievement doesn't even come close.
Never seen that - glad to hear it.Like I’ve said on numerous occasions, I didn’t know about the statement until it came out, so it’s hard to take responsibility for something I didn’t know about.
I’ve also said I didn’t agree with the wording of the statement.
Are Donald and Methven gonna admit that they’ve been Utterly incompetent at the same time? Please understand mate the RAWA and whoever put a lot of folks off as they suggested the spoke for everyone, when they did not.
if your lot were to say to SD and CM look we might have been a bit abrupt and we may be wrong can we talk around the table, it might just heal the bad feeling, and encourage other folks looking at us to see we are together.
just a suggestion
I did say some responsibility - obviously not all. He has stated that he did not agree with the way the action was conducted so I take my hat off to him for that.Harsh asking the lad to take personal responsibility. As I remember it the fanzines wanted to do the statement and RAWA agreed to put their name to it. I don't think there was enough time for Ghandi Floss to poll the members (and iirc he wasn't even available to join the call they had where the decision was cascaded to the reps).
That's not to say the RAWA were blameless. I've said throughout that I think they should have kept their name off it and polled their members. They could have let the fanzines release their statement and then, when a few days had passed and it maybe wasn't top of the agenda any more, they could have added their weight behind it, which would have been more impactful if it came with the majority backing of the members. But to start talking about an individual (volunteer) taking responsibility for it is unnecessary. Mind, as unscientific as it would be, I'd love to go through the thread about the statement to see what percentage of fans were in agreement with it. I think at the time they judged the mood right, albeit they should have confirmed it, it's just that we then randomly actually won a few third tier matches and suddenly people voiced disagreement.
Fair enough, and tbf when Len Shackleton played we had never been out the top division so he wouldn't know where to start with this shower. I don't think Clough would have disagreed either mind but neither of them would recognise SAFC now if they were here. Was Len Shackleton not Clough mate
The promised "significant investment" in January put it right though fortunately......It can’t be understated quite how disgusting the summer business was, talk about setting up to fail. The fact Donald thought that was enough to get him 100 points shows he’s a dreadful businessman when it comes to football.
“Nastiness”oh my we are talking about billionaires here, you think they were put off by “nastiness”, grow up man, oh and they got about 14,000 people liking there tweet of Donald out, but there really nasty that Rawa behave man and grow a pairSure, the 'fans' group's negativity, nastiness and lack of democracy would certainly appeal to any prospective owner.
I do. Well, I certainly did on this occasion.you have a very good HP.
BUT its more to do with who might come in over the next few weeks
It’s not the playground, them fuckwits have us the laughing stock of the country I hope they never set foot in the stadium of light again. Please understand mate the RAWA and whoever put a lot of folks off as they suggested the spoke for everyone, when they did not.

In my opinion, there wasn't any need for RAWA to act so quickly - remember this is the same group that took weeks to put out the effing minutes of a meeting. Something so important as a 'tarring and feathering' at least deserved a similar amount of time before action surely?
Is this just an opinion as it reads like you're saying it's a matter of fact?

Never heard this.Opinion, obviously, based on my reading of what's gone on.
Getting the minutes out was not RAWA's responsibility. They were as annoyed as everyone else. The delay was down to the club dragging their feet. RAWA is one of 7 groups plus the club involved in those meetings, and the minutes can't be released until all parties have agreed. Those are the ground rules set up when the meetings began.

Any idea why they dragged their heels? Not happy with the content?Opinion, obviously, based on my reading of what's gone on.

I remember hearing that the minutes had to be agreed by all parties, the club, senior's association and so on.I do remember it being mentioned that it was the club that caused the delay though.

The point that has been politically missed though is that there wasn't any need for RAWA to rush ahead with a contentious statement without sounding out their membership. The SMB Rep was apparently not even asked never mind the SMB....
