I know, you can only give someone the facts and if they choose to ignore them there’s not a lot more you can do. AndyH is probably of the opinion that the Krays were a canny set of lads and as they had no legal influence over other club owners in the area, they should have been left to get on with what they were doing.

You think he might be that utter helmet Steve Wraith? It seems possible.

That would be their entire allowed budget on one player :lol:

I think the release clause is 63m, but that aside why would he even think of joining Newcastle?

Even if they are taken over and, if they spend big then it will take years. Man City were taken over in 08 and you can see the rise in the highest value transfer:

2.7m (pre take over), 11.7m, 38.7m, 26.1m, 33.3m, 36m, 18.1m, 36m, 40.5m, 68.4m, 50m, 58.5m, 61m, 63m

You could argue that it took 8 years until the 68.4m signing of KdB to buy a player who was really coveted by everyone, though the 36m signing of Aguero helped them win their first title.

All mags should look at the arrivals in 07/08-10/11 at to see what type of players you can get. Some great names in there but not names akin to Haaland, Mbappe etc. that people are mentioning now. Besides more clubs with money now than ever before (we'll see what covid fall out is). Of course, if you are willing to offer 32 year old Dries Mertens a five year deal at 1m a week, then of course he will sign but soon you will flout FFP.

I think a point which is overlooked deliberately or not is that this bloke is 'The Man' who gives the orders.
he's not just part of the family, he runs the show and he's the man who will own the club.

For what reason?

I heard something middle of last week that suggested it had took a big stumble. Nothing to do with premier league more to do with the buyers or seller. It was vague as not many people will know full detail. Certainly not itk just a rumour from somebody who knows more than average fan on street.
since then I havnt seen anything to make me think it’s going ahead smoothly.

It will be Sima.

On a related note "Until Rafa he was never happy" the absolute whopper.
Tbh not many come on to debate or discuss. Look how many have suddenly appeared since the mention of a Saudi takeover. They are only on here to gloat and rub our noses in it if at all possible. See how many are here if it all goes tits up, which is quite possible btw

Na it will go through, but they will piss off sharpish once the initial buzz dies down and they realise it's nowhere near what they thought at first.

You think? Let’s wait and see eh.
As for those disingenuous mags amongst us, any whiff of doubt and they go quiet until they get their fix from the Chronicle or whatever then reappear if it sounds promising. So predictable!

Say ffp isn’t relaxed you can lose up to £35 million across 3 seasons, don’t think you have a massive amount of wriggle room. It’s not even a joelinton!
We can make £35m worth of losses in each of those 3 seasons. Not £35m across 3 seasons. And that's £35m pure loss, given we've been run at a profit, we will have wiggle room.

Bollocks. I don't give a monkeys if he has affinity or not, he was a great player for us who give his all each game.
I'll go along with that...and I know KK and Terry Venables rated him highly
Had bad trouble with his Achilles which hindered him at times. But still quality

He shouldn't pretend to be a fan on BBC Newcastle. He isn't. Talks about "us".

I would have more respect for him if he was more honest.

You never hear Chris Waddle talking about Newcastle the way Howey does.

They're mental. They haven't even been taken over yet and have no idea what they'll be spending/able to attract yet have berks like Howey suggesting they should sign Europe's hottest striker who is probably going to be going for north of £200m when he does leave.

And who will likely have his pick of any top team in the world

Yeah lets pick newcastle! What a tube howey is
