Where's your evidence of this?
I could quite easily claim theirs tens of thousands of Sunderland fans just waiting to go if we were challenging instead of being shit for 60 years.
Honestly, I have good reason to say my evidence will play out in the next 3 years.

I have bookmarked the page.

You didn't go because it was shit and you weren't happy with what was on display, it's no different to any other club who's attendances drop.

The only difference is other clubs don't go on about it being a protest to justify not going.

Oh and fuck off.
Good god LTR

Anfield comes alive for a handful of games per season. Against run of the mill teams it is one of the worst atmospheres in football: bleakly silent, ipad wielding tourists, complacency. The more your write the less you show you know about football finance. Flares and fireworks don't pay the bills but having a different jonny tourist turn up each week, spending 100 quid does.
We all know that, but for the games that the TV companies are promoting the brand globally Anfield is electric.

The premier league desperately need another club to tick the “passionate fans” box. They need their Marseilles, their Napoli.

We all know Newcastle support has been bored into silence over the last 15 years but they still have tagline the marketeers

Football hotbed/ most passionate fans in the country / famous atmosphere.

The Premier League need that promotional angle back.

We can all protest that is not true, but that does not matter. It’s about a mutually convenient brand association.

Newcastle are feted to always be that club.

Nah ...in my experience it will always be there

I duno like. Has there ever been a period where the 2 clubs have been so far apart for so long like is going to happen now

If the takeover goes through It will be a vast majority black and white region with a few bitter pockets of hardcore SAFC areas and FTM flags lying about

You are on this place 24/7.
I've been on quite a bit the last couple of weeks but prior to that it's been a couple of years i think.
I wan't on here when the whole FFP thing was going on.
I had obviously read bits and bobs about MSD partners potentially buying you, that's not the same as Michael Dell buying you like but not worth arguing over.
I do think a club of your stature at the price it's going for presents a real opportunity for someone so i'm sure you'll get your take over soon.

Ah fuck here's another one.
riddled binxy lad

And we would still dry hump you whenever we play you
At it’s root that is the problem.

Sunderland supporters barometer for success starts and ends with Newcastle. It is sadly a small club mentality.

Newcastle’s is about competing at the top end and European football.

We are worth about £30m but SD wants £50m. Unless he drops his price we won't be sold anytime soon.

Spanking MAN UTD !!! You lost your biggest game in 50 years to them iirc
Did they not get spanked off Southampton shortly afterwards as well?
Boro Bolton Portsmouth and Stoke have all had great runs in Europe against famous teams. Doesn't define a club.
Exactly, and they all won something for the privilege of playing in Europe, not like the skunks.
