The deal will go through but it'll be put on the back burner. The FA and PL have bigger problems. We are in the middle of a pandemic and they need to find a solution to get football started again. Clubs are likely to go bust and some PL clubs will be in serious financial trouble. Southampton's takeover is on hold due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Granted the PL have bigger problems but the people working on the problems of restarting the season are not the same people working on the owners and directors test. This is just a set process worked on by lawyers so I don't see Covid-19 having any significant effect on it.
As a Newcastle fan it's easy for me to imagine the deal will fall through, we have been more skeptical than anyone.
For the life of me though I can't see that happening by not getting PL approval. For the premiership to make an announcement that the Saudi Royal family is not fit to invest in a British business would be a massive diplomatic incident and would cause one hell of a shit storm.
That was pretty much the case when she tried to buy them from Big Mike last time and he said as much.

Wonder where all the info is coming from this time eh?
There doesn't seem to be a lot of information around to me, most of it looks like press guess work.
I think the initial leak reported by the New York Times would have definitely been Ashley.
A player wouldnt know anything
I agree
The buyers would have a good idea and they have said "the take over will be officially announced in the coming days"
That is obviously open to interpretation, when I read that I think less than a week as if longer the coming weeks would seem more appropriate.
It would be more than valid to argue that any point in the future is "the coming days" though.

I'm sticking firmly to I won't believe the takeover will happen until I see the new owner with the keys.

You were going in about the Saudi's website announcing the deal the other day. The same website that announced they were interested in buying Man Utd a couple of months ago.

Well I wouldn't say i was going on about it, i did mention that according to their website it was a done deal.
Yes their website also mentions in a older article that they where discussing making a bid for Man U, they did make a bid for ManU and it was knocked back.
I think I might be missing the point you are trying to make, can you clarify?

And a severed head in the other hand
I posted a link last night from The Sun and Forbes which the Mags ignored.

The WWE have a link with the Saudi's and directly with MBS. At their last PPV in KSA the Saudi's didn't pay up so Vince McMahon refused to air the event live on Saudi TV until the money was paid. When the wrestlers were getting on the plane they were taken off the plane and had to sit on the runway for 6 hours. They were held there by armed guards. The order came directly from MBS. Of course the WWE have denied this but a number of wrestlers are refusing to travel to Saudi Arabia again.

The WWE have suffered because of their links with MBS. They have failed to land a deal with the major MENA channels. Also, they have faced a backlash because of MSB's human rights record.

Okay...meh.

The saudis. They want to cover their crimes with stories about their new superclub.
well I wouldn't describe us as a superclub but life is about perspective and I suppose from your point of view I could see how you would view us so :lol::lol::lol:

I have no doubt that the Saudis are scum. I don't want them anywhere near NUFC.

However, it's farcical that the City of Sunderland has suddenly become the NE Branch of Amnesty International.

The majority of SAFC fans would be exactly the same as the majority of our fans are, if the Saudis were buying SAFC. They would turn a blind eye and make excuses, lots of whataboutery to justify the money. If you don't believe that then you are deluded.

After hearing that MSB can't commit to his deals and agreements. People don't seem to happy to be involved with organizations who have direct dealings with him.

He doesn't sound very trustworthy or a man of his word.

I said it once, you're an idiot. Sorry I had to repeat myself.
I was talking about the superclub they want to create, not that you are now, you absolute moron.
Anyway, it'll be Saudi Arabia's club, not yours.
I know I was joking, just poking a little fun at you.

Confidentiality agreements in place but a player knows about the funds being transferred, ok then.
Done and dusted by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. Heard via someone who knows a current player.

In the Transfer of funds Stage apparently.

Tuesday or Wednesday is the new Friday or Saturday
