New CEO appointed..

If things carry on the way they are, there will need to be some serious budget cutting at all levels of the game. So perhaps the right person for the job at this moment in time.
I think we might be counting our lucky stars we we still have a football club this time next season. As i can see some football league clubs not existing this time next year.

I don’t feel too confident about ourselves as it is. We have an owner who has said himself that he doesn’t have the cash to push us on much further and has already taken out a loan of some description to fund something? We were one of the first teams to place our players on the government scheme and now we have a loss of income for god knows how long.

Donald owns a small investment company nobody had heard of before he took us over, and thought (in his own words) the money he put into Eastleigh was “an awful lot of money” for him.

As you say, I’ll just be thankful if we get through this.

Bob man, stop your "allegiance" clouding your judgement. Like every other appointment SD has made, his CV does not warrant a role at this club. It doesn't look like he has been a good appointment at any club and just because he can shout a lot means fuck all. You need to be able to handle people differently not piss them off cos you can

The thing is mate, with apparent limited funds and the fact we're in league one, I can't see us doing any better unless people further up the pecking order are willing to accept less wages.

With oil now selling at minus level, perhaps the Saudi's wont have that much money to throw around after all.
Mohammed bin Salman is worth €7bn alone. Their plan is to invest about £200m into the club a year and build a team and academy.

We don't have a plan nevermind money.

Rodwell was on a huge wage at SUFC (circa £200k) and the majority of fans are glad to see the back of him.
I've met him. He speaks a good game and is supposedly well respected in football, but Iron fans certainly felt shortchanged given that you very little, if anything, has improved at the club during his tenure.
Also known as 'The Invisible Man'
Good luck

Id have to go back to the podcast for his exact wording but I think the term he used was ‘special’.

I really don't know the ins and outs of the appointment. I wasn't pleased with it at the time and after a decent spell following the Bolton game I thought we'd turned a corner. Sadly with nothing up front, it would be a big ask for most managers, we don't have enough quality.

There must be someone better than a failure at Scunny though mate

Walton managed Barclays portfolio with a number of premier league clubs for a number of years, setting up massive finance deals in football; most notably the world transfer record deal that took Shearer from Blackburn to Newcastle. Having worked his way up the corporate banking ladder at Barclays over nearly 30 years and managing the portfolio as I previously mentioned, he was then appointed CEO of a premier league club that had recently been in the Premier League.

Sounds quite similar to our new fella who played for Tadcaster Harriers and then became chairman of Boston.
It’s not exactly inspirational is it. Whilst I try to be optimistic and give people a chance, there’s nothing I’ve seen to suggest this lad is going to take us forward.

it’s worse than that. It’s heartbreaking watching our club sinking to these levels. It’s not as if we’re appointing someone who has taken a club from the lower leagues and organised them to an extent where they’re competitive and producing great financial results, it’s the exact opposite. He has achieved absolutely nothing at any of the clubs he has been at. We’ve got Methven going round shouting ‘we need to show them what good looks like’ to employees and they’re appointing people like Parkinson, Hill, Smith and now Rodwell who have nothing but lower league mediocrity on their CVs.
