Many Newcastle fans are the same. It is probably further advanced than any other time, but I still won't believe it until it's done. Ashley is impulsive.
Always Ashley's fault.

Don't know if you've noticed, but there's also evidence that the buyers have displayed questionable behaviour and ethics once or twice like.

Mirror reckons if it goes through they'll invest 200m over 3yrs. That's not just on players thats for improvements on everything (fixing the lifts etc). Think the mags who are expecting champions league finals will be a tad disappointed in that figure. Ashley spent 65m last summer didnt he??

Most SAFC fans i know are pretty clean to be fair. Fumigation would not be necessary sir.

As someone mentioned earlier the Arena is tabled to go. A new stadium there perhaps. Still within the city. Obviously it would not sit well with the traditionalists, my preference would still be to spruce up what we have, however progress often means change. Perhaps the Leazes Park idea could work.

Leazes Park? You really think building a stadium on the only city centre park would be permitted?
If you meant Castle Leazes Moor, then it wouldn't be large enough and wouldn't be permitted either. The Arena option could be conceivable and would be a good location, but could be complicated due to topography and multiple acquisitions.

Don't know if this has been posted yet but I've been asked to share it, make of it what you will I'm not arsed about them up the road tbh, if they make their bed with this lot they have to lie in it....
Not the worst take but ignores facts to make a fairly relevant point.

Shepherd didn’t want to sell the club (though it’s clear we were heading to the the next Leeds financially) it was Sir John under the advice of Douglas who made the call to sell.

I doubt you’ll find anyone on Tyneside who’d disagree Hall and Shepherd took more out than they ever put in but those heady 90s days after the grimness of 80s and early 90s Newcastle gave us hope at least.

any club is one sale away from the next Venkys or Steve Dale.

link? I am sure the one I read was per season.

Let’s put it this way, if their takeover goes ahead and the Saudis spend as threatened, the mags will know that if they don’t win something then, they probably never will. If they cannot make this work then they’re doomed to win fuck all for the rest of eternity!

All I'm saying is, if he decides not to sell then it doesn't go through. It's not beyond him to change his mind.

Probably not however it is conceivable to provide a plan where the existing site is developed to provide a new park area.

As i have said my preference would be to address the current stadium. The concourses, in general, need a re-vamp. The East stand is a dump. Barely been improved since it was developed into it's current format.

Not seen any of these personally. Perhaps you could identify a few for me?

I also seriously doubt that the Mirror have been contacted with the inside track on proposed financial strategies in the event this happens.

Don't know how to post it sorry. A quick google search on the mirror and you'll find it. Then they're going to review it 3yrs down the line. If the 200m is bringing success they'll invest more

I don't care what you think tbh. I'm just posting what I read

So you read somewhere that Newcastle fans are expecting Champions League Finals?

Given that Chi Onwurah was so desperate to slag Mike Ashley off in parliament I’m looking forward to hearing what she has to say about Mohammed bin Salman. Surely she wouldn’t let the issue of a tyrannical regime go unnoticed or is she all about pandering to the people who are eligible to vote for her?
i suspect we all know the answer to that one.

I recall the episode of Only Fools and Horses where Del becomes a millionaire. All he’s ever wanted; money, Rolls Royce, big house etc., and he’s emotionally bereft. The thrill was in the chase.

A lot of mags seem to be excited for a return to the Keegan days but, whilst Keegan spent money, that was a more organic building process where they had utter faith in one man, who was an idealist in terms of the way he wanted football played and gained unbelievable momentum. It was a different era.

I think this is a myth we say to ourselves to make supporting a shit club seem ok.

When I speak to Man City fans they absolutely love winning things, competing with their rivals and playing in Europe. Yeah there’s some who miss certain aspects of being shit but I reckon 99% of them are happier now then they were in the third division. You only have to go to the etihad to know how good they’ve got it.
