So Sheff Utd are the only club of the ones you mention that are Saudi influenced and you havent seen any media articles about them. So until now now nobody has been much interested in Saudi investment in English football. Strange everyone now getting so hot and bothered it.
I’m certainly not getting hot and bothered as you say. Personally if it were us I would never leave this board to get a cross section of views and probably be elated and wouldn’t have the time or inclination to visit a Newcastle board

The first but is funny though, made out Ashley to be the devil just because you never kicked on from mid table

even though he just spent 40 million quid like you demanded

Just funny how you can go from making out Ashley to be such an awful person, then when some actual real life awful people come in, it suddenly doesn't matter

It doesn’t not matter, I’m just not sure how people can suddenly be in uproar about the Saudis having never cared before.

I do agree it that it raises wider ethical considerations about football and the so called fit and proper persons test.

What do grown men get out of this kind of crack? Sad as fuck man, at this moment in time I couldn't give a toss if they get taken over, christ I'm more worried when me next holiday is going to be and next pint in a pub! 😂
He's been on here about 5 days straight, telling all and sundry "it won't happen, it won't happen, it won't happen". The only thing in meltdown must be his keyboard.

Are you talking about Sunderland fans or from the whole country, top ex players included? You see, you are painting a picture that it is only us, but perhaps it is not only exclusive to us, and if you feel that strongly why not widen your angst onto other forums?

Now that I find funny, lol

I’m talking about anyone that all of a sudden has a problem with this having never raised an eyebrow about the Saudis before. Whoever they support.

I honestly appreciate that some people will point to the hypocrisy of Newcastle fans welcoming Saudis when many would use Ashley’s practices as a stick to beat him with....

However....

There is some major hypocrisy by many on here as well by people that:

A) Will never have previously even gave the crimes of the Saudis a second thought;

And

B) would be celebrating wildly if it happened at Sunderland.
I reckon you lot would he absolutely dead against it if they were skint mind to balance things a bit. Protests galore

Yes mate I'm sure it's one big conspiracy because it's Newcastle. I'm neither hot nor bothered, the hypocrisy is quite funny though.

<<Just hypothetical deflection this. Not about us.....
The reality is amnesty international has condemned the new Newcastle owners for human right abuses, murder of a journalist critical of the Saudi regime, torture, human trafficking, lack of women’s rights, capital punishment.....the list goes on and on.....
The hypocrisy is when Newcastle fans and MP Chi Onwurah were openly criticising Mike Ashley because of zero hour contracts........but they’re welcoming the new owners with open arms because of his wealth. This is nothing to be proud of. FACT

They can’t answer that one mate without looking like dickheads

We all know the real answer

Bit of a weird statement, I've always been sceptical of the Saudi gov. Followed a fair few stories of human rights breaches and other dodgy behaviour. People are talking about it now because not only is it a political thing (something we try to keep away from football) it's now also a football related thing. Theres no surprise people are talking about it more now than before.

Whenever there is the first hint of success for football fans despite anything dodgy that can accelerate that I’m always reminded of the great quote by Groucho Marx.

“these are my principles, if you don’t like them I have others”.

it sums up how a majority undoubtedly feel. For every amnesty international protesting at NUFC / MCFC or Durham miners being offended at a self confessed member of the right becoming manager, there’s a hell of a lot more ( rightly or wrongly ) who put principles out of the window for a bit of potential glory.

Sunderland basketball team were relocated by their then owner David Elderkin, to Newcaste before being bought by Hall. Sunderland had been established and were one of the countries top teams, for 18 years before Hall saw a chance of £'s.
I know, as I used to wach them, so f*ck off with trying to rewite and expunge history.

Yet another swipe at Sunderland by Tico Mag.

Go fist yourself you big fanny.

I used to go watch them too and it was a much better experience at the arena and latterly the Uni and new venue than Crowtree. Trying to convince yourself otherwise is f***ing stupid.

If the mags are happy with blood money been pumped into their club then let them be happy. They obviously have no morals. They were outraged with the way Ashley went on with his businesses and their MP couldn’t speak enough about it. Haven’t heard a word from her on this subject.

They were outraged with us playing Johnson when he was under suspicion and then condemning our fans when he was found guilty. They were outraged with us hiring an alleged fascist.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love for millions to be pumped into us but blood money? No thanks.

Will we have many traitors amongst our ranks who will switch colours? The type that go on Sky Sports News claiming they are lifelong fans like that Beefy wanker?

Maybe realty check for those expecting blank cheques, might also explain why they’ve been quibbling over £40m.
Sounds like everything they touch turns to shit. At least they won’t have long to wait for their next venture to live up to expectations.
