What was the outcome - were they found guilty of cheating or could it not be proved? Great story though.

It was never broadcast because of the court case. The clips that people have seen were from a Tonight with Trevor McDonald show that ITV commisioned.

All 3 got suspended sentences and pretty hefty fines and court costs.
 
Her fine was quashed his was reduced to £5000 of which he has paid £1240,both have declared bancrupcy for the 4'th time.

It’s a bit shit but also quite compulsive viewing. Episode three’s going to flip preconceptions but he’s still guilty as sin right!
 
I don't get it, why was police and court time wasted on someone who cheated at a game.

If the rules were that he couldn't open his eyes during the questions, would the police be investigating to see if he did?

The law shouldn't extend into the rules of TV games.
 
People forget how mental people went for it at the time. Remember my parents used to phone up to about 50 times a day to get on and there were loads of people using similar strategies to the Ingrams to get to fastest finger first. If you watch the actual footage its his wreckless and bumbling idiot nature that probably aroused suspicion. Had he remained cool and acted like he had an inkling and was deciding whether to act on it rather than pretending he was willing to make lucky guesses with such huge sums involved people would have been none the wiser.

Watch the final question in particular he goes from not having a clue to ruling out the correct answer to deciding the answer he ruled out is worth a guess in the space of minutes.

Her entire shtick seems to be having an irish accent that apparently makes really unfunny things hilarious.

The show itself is a bit weird. Is it supposed to be a comedy?
