What’s the current thoughts on moving house?

I did plan to move this year, but based on a potential drop in value, coupled with the financial risk of employment, I’m not planning to put my house up for sale for some time, most likely next year.


That said, I’m sure there is bargains to be had with people desperate to sell

The housing market fallout will be immense. There will never be a better time to get a mortgage but nobody is bomb and Coronavirus proof. No viewings, no sales and no risk taking is my opinion.

I think banks will become more risk averse as companies have financial difficulty and their employees struggle to maintain payments.

Yip. Which in turn affects the ability to obtain a mortgage and subsequently the number of people buying new ones. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy.

This in itself is a worrying concept. I don’t think the financial crisis of 2007/2008 will be as bad as what we are living through right now. Very happy to be wrong on this front.

We were planning on moving as well. Just going to have to wait and see what happens over the next month or so before deciding I suppose.
