I’ve mentioned this and then the lad in question who loves these events has ran, 108.6 miles on a treadmill today, mad man!
That’s insane. I’d be worried about breaking it. .
Not a had a problem with mine in 3 1/2 years (don’t use it much though) but I’ve got this nagging feeling we’re going to get a proper lockdown then it’ll break. I was anxious running so long on it today.

4.5 miles an hour over 24 hours the lunatic.

Seems it was an online event, so he’s got film of it, as have other headcases around the land, bloody nuts!!

Its the cyclists that seem to be more the prbem where I run, mainly along the lines, dog walkers all moving ot the way so we both on as much of the edge as poossible, cyclists just blasting through as normal.
When I was out yesterday 2 cyclists approached me, the ignorant bastards not only stayed on the path but remained side by side meaning that I had to run right round them onto the main road.

Chipping away is how it’s done mate, well done.

Cheers mate. I want to be able to do a comfortable 10K as soon as possible. It doesn't have to be fast just to be able to do it would be a massive achievement for me.
Read biography of Emil Zatopek , Czech runner from the 50s who was world revived holder at 5000 and 10000 ... when Russia invaded Prague and there was a lockdown he trained by running on the spot in his bath

I've been running on the spot in the house on days when I don't go out. Feel like a prick but it gets the heart rate up so is worth doing.

I saw a fb memory from 2 years ago when I was chuffed to bits doing a 10k. Now I do half marathon every 9 days and was going further until the shit all started.

Just keep going you'll get there.

Cheers mate. I am determined. I have been unfit for most of my adult life. I am 36 in a couple of weeks and I worry about my longterm health if I don't start looking after myself better.

Ive never been hugely overweight but I had a medical about 3 years ago saying my BMI was too high and my cholesterol was too.

Starred running soon afterwards and everything is where it should be. I was 36 when I started.

I was 31 when the doctor told me to sort my act out. I’ve got crohns and hid behind that for a while.

I’m 33 in June, in that time I’ve lost and kept off just over 3 stone and I’m working on a 4th, I’m off the daily meds I was taking which are an immunosuppressant so ideal timing based on whats happening now and I’ve never felt better.

My favourite thing about it is you’re never done, there’s always something you can target and aim towards, it’s endless.

Aye. My 5k times have been improving each run so it gives me a good feeling then managing that extra 1k today felt good. Can't wait to get back out. It has been a long time since I have had this attitude to exercise.
