So far:

Ryanair early April booking. Flight cancelled. Offered Refund. Claimed. Nothing received.

Ryanair late April booking. No communication.

Holiday Cottage booking in late May. Deposit paid. Emailed enquiry about transferring deposit. No reply. Email today saying they will be taking remainder of money next week plus a returnable damage deposit. Obviously it’s an automated email but are they really saying they expect us to travel to a cottage in Scotland next month.

If the restrictions have been dropped m8, you’ll be expected to fulfil unless there are extenuating personal circumstances, like hospitalisation etc.

H10 - returned all monies
Jet2 - returning money on Tuesday if not sooner
Hopper - nope but only £20 so not bothered
Holiday extras for car park refunded via voucher for 1 trip, used 3 hours of 6 days as flight was cancelled while we were in airport, waiting to hear

Not too bad tbh

I'm in a similar situation and they let me cancel and they keep deposit. I get the deposit back if I rebook next year.

Got offered to change mine for a 10% discount, holiday is paid in full, I've no idea when I'd book a different one for so have just left it as it is.
7 weeks tomorrow, I doubt I'll be going anywhere.

Hope cottage booking isn't with hoseasons, Sykes,cottages.com or associated companies as you will be fuked.
Have a look on trust pilot for Shoes they are all either 1star from customers or 5star from suspicious sources😎

Due to fly early may with tui. Offered us a free amendment so we can rebook for next year as technically our holiday is still in place for may due to the FCO advisory only being in place till 15th april, even though we know it wont go ahead. We tried to rebook the identical holiday but for next year and its an extra £1100 for the holiday as the ‘free amendment’ only applies to the admin fee.

We are well aware of the perilous financial situation that the travel industry faces at present and so we were prepared to simply rebook the same holiday but move it to next year so it amazes me how they are crying poverty and encouraging people to rebook or take vouchers instead of refunds, then trying to rip you off if you dont.

We are now sitting tight and will claim a refund.

We were due to go to Dubai and Cape Town tomorrow.

Hotels: all booked via booking.com who changed them all to free cancellation. One of them had already taken the money so just waiting to get them back.

emirates via opodo: made me realise that should never book via third party agent again. Every call is at least an hour wait time then they hang up quite often. Initially offered a voucher but we could do with the money as it was 2k. Then said that they can do cash refund but won’t get it I’ll next April:eek: finally said they can have a look at processing it quicker which is within 90. Not holding much hope

booked a few sights including burj Khalifa who are all refunding

Got Jordan and Cyprus in June which is with three separate airlines so be right pain in arse if can’t go

Got out Jet2 refund from mid March on Tuesday
Have Jet2 flights to Rome for early May paid for
Have also paid for 2 X TUI Holidays in full for June
We are ok as we have both got incomes from our pensions but to some the money owed and delay to get reimbursed could be a real problem.

I stopped using Hoseasons years ago after a bad experience. This is with Unique Cotages. They are taking our money despite us emailing and asking for the deposit to be transferred.

I've got a booking with cottages.com the cottage owner phoned me yesterday she says cottages.co m are taking everybody's money but don't give a penny to cottage owners till 2 weeks after stay despite cottages.com refusing to give refunds as they say cottage owners haven't returned money.

I genuinely hope it's not Sykes that you've booked with
They are a horrible despicable company at the best of times but they've really shown themselves up during this crisis
I don't want to see any business go under as a result of this crisis but in their case I'll make an exception

Almost as bad as Sykes in my experience
Before we moved here we rented a place in Dalwhinnie through Unique Cottages
We had to wait 12 weeks to get our security deposit back after they reckoned that there were issues with how we had left the cottage
We pointed out the the owner had left us feedback on their own website to say that the cottage had never been left cleaner, and eventually they paid up

Bunch of crooks

Ryanair emailed me about my holiday March gone. It's supposed to take 7 working days but they basically said they were working on it and would refund as soon as they could but could take some time.

Paris by eurostar 7th May fully paid, heard nothing
Turkey 10th July with Jet2, deposit paid and now asking for balance in full at another 1300 and odd.

I think thats a bad move as flights next year could be hugely expensive. You are highly unlikely to get back what you paid.

I have two trips booked one in April and one in May and will try and get the cash back via either Holiday insurance or credit card company as the three airlines involved are only offering vouchers. I have no accommodation booked for one trip and the other is fuly cancelable until early next week.

Really hope those companies, like Opodo, who are taking the piss like this go bust as a result of the crisis.

Offering vouchers is a total rip off as there is little chance you can re-book at anything like the current cost.

We have a cruise booked with P&O for July. Only paid deposit thus far with balance of about 6k due at the end of this month. They have said they expect us to pay as that is what we have committed to. If we cancel we lose the deposit. If however we pay in full then cancel later we get all back in vouchers. We shall be withholding the remainder.

The government should be stepping in and making these crooks refund everyone, in cash not worthless vouchers. Why would anyone want to offer repeat business to companies who treat their customers in this way?

I had my money back from Ryanair within 3 days when they cancelled my flights for my holiday in may

No way I'll be accepting a voucher if I dont have to. If everyone did that the prices will be bumped up. Perfect way for travel companies to claw some money back.
Wish jet2 would just confirm my holiday is being cancelled so I can get a refund sorted.
