Panic Buying

Just read this - Asda.com - Online Food Shopping, George, & more

Some of their supermarket car parks have ANPR. Asda don’t have direct access to the data, though.

The third party would have to be able to automatically process and match up registrations on consecutive days. It might be doable, it might require a software rewrite and a new contract with Asda.

I still don’t think this will happen. Not unless there’s government mandated rationing for a lengthy period to make it worthwhile.
I can’t see it happening myself

To administer their parking fines. They give an almost infallible log of who came in and who went out, without ever needing to employ a parking attendant, meaning you can fine people for going just over the time limit or returning too often.

They really are a set of bastards! They can’t fine you, though, it’s a ‘penalty’ or ‘charge’!
I’ve heard a few tales of people using the car parks in retail areas getting charged for staying longer than three hours or whatever. It’s really not right. Some people are slow shoppers!

I’m amazed by all this panic buying. I’m currently having an extension built at my home and I’ve not had a kitchen since November. We have a tiny under the counter fridge, a microwave and a kettle yet at no point during this situation have we starved , been unable to wipe our arses or been unable to keep ourselves clean .
What’s the matter with people ?
Having said al that , if I see another meal for one after this , our lass might be wearing it😂😂😂

Has anybody been to the supermarkets this week? Specifically today. I'm out of milk and I need some stuff for my grandparents. Was thinking the big tesco at dragonville. Is it hell on earth still?

Went into the local garage/spar for some milk, as we had ran out, loads of 2 litre bottles , it was on a buy 2 deal just got one as it all I needed you'd think they would stop the deals.

Really? For what reason do supermarkets have them? It’s an expensive system to get fitted.

To know how long your car has been parked.. you get two hours and after that you get a ticket.

I've just been to a tesco and did a full weekly shop.

Got pretty much anything I wanted.

Had a queing system outside with taped spaces of 2 metres and only letting so many in a time.. waited about 10 minutes to get in but for that time back. Y having the place quiet and then. O queues at the tills

Plenty fresh produce and the chiller aisles well stocked..

Managed to get fresh bread, milk and eggs

Milk and eggs were not too plentiful and the same with some can ed goods such as tomatoes. Rice and pasta pretty much a no no.

Wine selection plentiful. Beer woeful..

Still sorted now until next week

I've been buying shit online due to not going anywhere and knowing I'll be in when it gets delivered. Bought one of the paint rollers that holds the paint in it and is supposedly non drip meaning no dust sheets are needed.
Not planning on doing any painting soon like
The amount of totally useless shite bought on t'internet will sky rocket over the next few weeks

Tesco Fulwell about 11 this morning the queue was from one door to the other..went to Asda at Boldon instead..straight in bog rolls..bread..long life milk..no bother.

I’ve avoided the big supermarkets

Went to the small Asda near me and it was fine apart from bog roll and pasta and chicken.

people must love pasta as I have seen it for weeks.

Credit to the staff at Seaham ASDA today, one in, one out policy and staff inside were lovely.

Also a mention for the fellow customers who queued in their own space patiently (apart from one kn@cker [a woman] who thought it was “ridiculous” when obviously she was the ridiculous one).

Obviously items were not all in stock but we got most stuff we were after, keep it up.

The car parks often serve more than just a supermarket, though. Some people have disabilities as well.

If it's owned by my a supermarket and you are using it to get your shopping elsewhere then it's not the supermarkets fault is it. Some give 3 hours...
Use them sensibly and you will never have a problem

I’m talking about shopping areas like the ones that have lots of shops and a time limit. The car park serves the whole row, not just one supermarket or shop.

I think The Galleries might have a time limit as well, though I haven’t been for years. The car parks might be administered by the supermarkets, I don’t know, but they serve the whole shopping centre. It’ll be a condition for planning permission, I’d imagine.
