Checked ya pension pot lately?

TIME IN the markets not TIMING the markets. That’s how you make your long term gains. If you save over 30 or 40 years for your retirement there’s gonna be a few recessions and disasters (natural or financial) along the way.

Exactly. If you're in the last few years of your pension your money will usually be moved to somewhere unaffected by the markets for this reason.

I’m in the last few MONTHS prior to retirement in one of my defined contribution pension pots with exactly that arrangement and the ‘low risk fund’ of the total was taking such a hammering that I’ve made arrangements to move it into a 100% cash fund. It’s recovered slightly from a low point whilst I await for the instruction to be processed but I can’t afford to lose any more and it won’t have time to recover. That is also the case with another account that’s a consolidation of other transfers. That too has to be moved to mostly cash by my financial adviser. I’m not utterly fucked but I’m significantly affected.

A lad I work with who's currently going throught getting his final salary pot out of the company and getting it invested got a letter off his financial advisor last week and written on the bottom was 'you lucky, lucky man'..meaning the money he's going to make when the markets pick up.

Aye mate..i'm on with mine at the moment and spoke to my advisor yesterday..he was on about all these lads who've suffered a bit due to the virus stuff..he was saying they haven't really lost anything and they'll be ok once the markets recover..I've just signed the letter today to get permission off the trustees to access mine..haven't a clue what i'm going to do yet like.

Never ever ever been a better time to transfer them. Transfer values going up and market on its arse. An opportunity of a lifetime if it’s the right advice to do so. What the scheme offers has to stack up of course and loads of other caveats to get the the stage of moving them though.

This is what I should have done, I look at my app all the time!
Saying that, does someone know something we don't, as my shares have gone up about 10% this week, and over 5% in the last 24 hrs?
Mate , you holding your phone upside down :D

regarding my transfer my pension trustees just simply stopped replying emails (prob staff shortages their end ) or purposely dragging heels , so just sticking with final salary one now

More people buying up on the cheap. It could well drop again once another panic sets in.

I doubt anyone would let you transfer atm.
Pension funds are in turmoil and doubt they could give you an accurate buy out, with bonds etc being virtually worthless

why ? share prices are very low, probably a good time to transfer "if" that is what want anyway

Be great to transfer now, just that with bonds being close to negative and interest rates at 0.1% the cetv would need to be massive, so not sure what the trustees could offer, if they could offer anything at all atm.
