 sorry mate
i got it on the NHS bike scheme. its a cube Nuroad 2019. other than that i havent a clue!!!
Nice bit of kit. Love this coulourway especially. Been thinking of getting a gravel/road hybrid myself. Let us know how it handles downhill when you take it offroad. That it something I have always wondered.

Cheers mate...Know you're the man for Althea way ;)
To be honest If I went to Mallorca in mid Feb I'd expect the same weather as you describe. As for the cold, despite being born and bred Northerner I really feel the cold( especially hands/feet)

Will be in touch if we decide to do it. Kristina wants to go to Cap Negret ( believe been done out recently) They do bike hire, but internet suggests there are other bike hire places ?
Food for thought

Thanks again...and enjoy your current trip 👍
It's the fact I sweat for an hour up the climbs that means in freezing coming down the other side. Gillet and rain jacket ftw

even in April i always take arm warmers, gilet, rain cape etc.
Dont often need them but always take them to Mallorca at Easter and even September

Just had this offer through...it's the hotel we are planning on using in Oct or Feb next year.

Can't believe the price

Looks some deal that. The lack of having to faff on sorting the bike and transfers is a huge bonus. I might be tempted, like.

Kristina has been on about Cap Negret for a while..been recently done out.
She started looking at bike hire and this offer popped up. Even allowing for a room upgrade( which doesn't particularly bother me on a cycling trip) it is still an amazing value trip.

Though the transfer is no doubt less than Palma to Port Alcudia (which we will hopefully be doing 4 weeks today) it's still canny than included.
Bike storage and bike facilities at the hotel are superb( loads of pro teams stay there)

How does the cold affect people's performance?

I'm finding that since about the start of November, I'm around 1.5mph slower, especially on my commute to work. I've had a couple of injuries, but even before them I have seen a notable drop. I'm not sure if it is my muscles stiffer in the cold, cold and wet affecting the bike mechanically or that mental 'ugh' feeling in the cold and rain.

I don't function in the cold well at all. It can be red hot and I'm fine but all my energy seems to go towards keeping warm when its chilly.

are you on the same bike ?
probably best to ignore speeds in winter, thou will be wearing more layers and generally whole set up will be heavier, the roads will be worse and weather crap. Will all contribute to slower speeds.

if you were using a power meter and the power output was down that would be a more reliable way of comparing.
Always put the slower speeds down to the above rather than how I go in hot or cold weather.

Yeah, same bike. I'm one of these odd people who only have one bike (though I have been tempted by a road bike for weekends). I'm not that bothered by the slower speed, more interested if it is something most experience.

Are we all still comfortable riding in the current climate?

Individually anyway...
To the best of my knowledge, as long as you’re not in a high risk category then you’re ok to outdoor exercise. Could be some fuckers give us a bit more elbow room on the roads, plus the roads are quieter themselves... when you’re on your bike, you are to a certain degree social distancing.

Probably best to swerve the coffee stops though.

Biked to work yesterday, roads were noticeably quieter.

Britisg cycling sent out an email yesterday saying they were cancelling all events. I would imagine all sportives will go that way for the foreseeable too

I’m going to continue to ride outside but all racing both British Cycling and Masters racing have been cancelled as of yesterday.

My club has also taken the decision to suspend club rides and internal TTs.

Zwift racing will boom......

aye will continue to ride outside till told otherwise.

Zwift and the likes will boom as you say.

Mallorca at Easter certainly off, we have decided if the situation sorts itself out that we will do October and almost certainly Cap Negret ( Allure bike hire have an offer...week at CN half board, bike hire, airport transfer and access to all bike storage facilities for 439 Euros 👍 )

Holidays not the most important thing at the minute obviously

I always time things impeccably. I retired less than two weeks ago and considering that since my heart op I never properly got back to cycling I decided to use some of the time to start doing some proper mileage on the bike again. And the world stops all group rides! I'll just trundle on as a Billy no mates then.
Incidentally last wed I went out for my first ride with the local CTC oldies, which was s revaluation. I felt like their young apprentice - most of them are in their 70s. The cafe stop was Wetherspoons in Sandbach 😅
