Nissan

It’s a situation where we could end up in a whole heap of financial mess.

If people start defaulting on loans and mortgages, then it will also affect the banking business.

It’s a complex financial web, and someone is going to need help, be it helping banks help us, or helping us continue to pay the banks.

Halifax have emailed me and said support is available for mortgage breaks etc. Not sure how it will work though.

I’ve heard rest of this week off and three days taken from Christmas shutdown, 5 emergency stand downs next week. Not confirmed mind.

4pm is a strange time for an announcement with nobody on-site.
Honestly they haven't go a clue what they are doing.
Backshift in tonight as usual, they'll be getting a separate briefing when they get in.
We've been sent home an hour early but expected back in tommorow morning.

Buying time imo and standard Nissan, as clear as f***ing dog shit

BL were much better to work for 😆

That’s a shame, I’ve not seen the details, just that it’s a max of £1.2m loan. Fingers crossed for you.
Problem is loans have to be paid back, and if we dive headlong into a massive recession after this, there’s not much hope of repayment from many companies

Weird thing is if it’s a big enough company/ industry it’s a rescue package inevitably, much like BA and Viirgim will be clamouring for, not being paid back but for smaller companies it’s a loan

The government need to act and force banks, local councils, utility companies etc to introduce payment holidays for all those effected by their firms or own businesses having to shutdown and be bringing in no money. They also need to work out ways to provide funds for those who can’t afford to put food on the table.

Also companies that provide nonessential services need to be sympathetic and offer payment holidays, otherwise this country is going to end up proper fucked.
Government needs too be bailing firms out (big time) to keep the economy ticking over.
