RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS

I broke down in boldon, no petrol

Some bloke spotted me walking along with my Jerry can. This was rush hour and he was in a work van with his apprentice so they’d obviously been at work all day

They picked me up, took me to petrol station, waited then took me back to car. Even waited til the car had started

Total opposite direction to where they were going and took about 40 minutes due to it being rush hour
On the minus side , driving back on the A689 from Seaton Carew to Newton Aycliffe , car broke down I had wife and 3 children all under 6yr old in the car. Thus was in the early 1980s was snowing . I left them and walked almost a mile back to a petrol station near Wolviston it's not there anymore btw. They didn't have a public phone so I explained the situation and asked if I could use his phone to call the AA , the twat refused. Had to walk back and flag down a car . The driver took my wife and the kids to a cafe in Sedgefield and she got the AA out to me from there. Was feckin freezing.

seen this thread earlier and decided i'd join in on my lunch break. Came across a Bangladeshi fella who was very confused at the metro. He was trying to pay for a metro using a free bus pass from the uni using one of the pop card scanners. I took him to the ticket machine, paid for his ticket and pointed him in the right direction.

Go me.
That reminds of getting stuck behind a car at the tyne tunnel booth. The car in front was obviously having some sort of problem and a middle eastern woman got out and asked if if I knew how to pay with a ten pound note. I just gave her a couple of quid coins and told her to keep the note. She was really grateful and seemed quite surprised

I passed them on the way down to testos and gave them a friendly toot on the horn.

They just looked at me as if to say "who the fck are you beeping at"

😁

help people find their dogs all the time...been out at midnight with a torch sometimes..

forever helping old folk/mums etc reach stuff or carry stuff in supermarkets...

girl at work's boy friend ditched her just as they'd moved into a flat so I went round and put shelves up for her..did a few bits..

whenever I can really, doesn't take much to be nice..

Did you, aye?

Not a massive act of kindness, but whenever I buy an all day bus ticket, after my final journey I tuck the ticket into the corner of the timetable for someone else to pick up.

I helped a bloke outside a night club once years ago. He was drunk and his trouser's were round his ankles and he was stumbling around pissed. The doormen were laughing and videoing him on their mobiles along with a few "lads" outside waiting to get in. They put their phones away and started giving me abuse when i started to pull his trousers up for him I told them to fuck off and that i was an off duty cop ( complete lie never been a cop for a day in my life). A young woman helped me take him to a taxi. Instant karma me and this nice lass spent the rest of the evening together.

It's actually an offence to impersonate a police officer.

Didn’t post this on here but my eldest lad over a week a ago talked a lad out of suicide. He is on a lower league (League Two) Group chat where they predict scores and talk footy. Never shows me and why should he as something that he enjoys getting involved in.
On train to Carlisle last Saturday he informed me that an Orient fan that posts had taken an Overdose and wanted to end his life, this was acknowledged by another Orient fan that the lad was in distress.
Unknown to me my lad had got hold of his favourite Orient player as well as their keeper who used to play for Swindon.
The players got hold of the lad via social media and arranged him to meet the players last Tuesday etc.
Anyway I asked him to show me his phone and messages regarding this which he reluctantly did. There was his old man with a few tears in his eyes telling him how proud I was of him and immediately called his Mum to let her know,
The lad is absolutely fine now and I told him if he wants to come up at the end of the season i will sort him out tickets for him and his mate.

Always get an immense amount of satisfaction showing kindness.

Seen a bloke in his 70s trying to change a tyre in the rain as he had a puncture. I had to help him, poor sod had the jack in the wrong place and if he had of got the car up would have probably caused himself a serious injury. Said his son could have done it but he didnt want to bother him.

Anyway, got it sorted for him in 5 mins and he offered me a fiver ”for a couple of pints". I refused, said ni its fine and he threw it in my car anyway. Went towards my stella so can't complain.
