A highly recommend Auchterarder, lovely little village with 2 cracking pubs, both are b&b's with some great scenery around.

Gleneagles is next door aswell if you like golf or just fancy a nosy around.

Very quiet area of scotland and not too far north

For one night i'd want to land sooner than later so anywhere on the coast Dunbar etc ,even Northumberland

Go to Stranraer. Not least because my family are from there. Not loads going on mind.

Banff up past Aberdeen.
